Linnanmäki: General Discussion

In 2024 developments - looks like Linnanmäki are opening an Intamin Gyro Swing on the site of their old Top Spin (Kieputin). The press release states that the park directors rode Loke at Liseberg and decided they had to have one. Should be a decent replacement given the Top Spin was almost perpetually broken!
Aaaand this opened a few days ago as Swingi. Nice addition to the park in a formerly pretty dead location.

Does anyone have any tips for Linnanmaki such as any savings on the cost of the ride wristband or tips for beating the queues and planning the day? I'll be visiting in a couple of weeks time, I'm so looking forward to Taiga as I'm a big fan of Taron but I'm thinking this might be even better.

I visited at the end of June last year, in fact it was Midsommer weekend. I was expecting the park to be really busy but it ended up being dead quiet all around the city as the Fins seem to all bugger off to their summer houses! The park is really small but there’s a lot to do. There’s not really any tips for what rides to do when as as it takes maximum 5 minutes to get between any two rides.

Operations aren’t great though. Taiga was getting around 500pph on two trains, and the worst culprit of the day was the Maurer spinner, which was being run appallingly. The park should be open nice and late for you though, so plenty of time to get everything done.

Have a great day!

And to add to the above, there are no discounts available unfortunately. Discounts are very much not a Finnish thing - you just pay the price on the website 😂

Make sure to ride Taiga late on though - it's without doubt one of if not the most underrated coaster in Europe!
