Welcome to Lucky Lake!

Background -

Lucky Lake (formally White Water Lake) is an isolated body of water set within the Green Leaf Valley once an early settlement for farmers due to the high quality of the soil the valley was abandoned in the 18th century due to extensive flooding washing all signs of life away, over time trees and plant life have return and the waters no longer pose a threat due to a dam built further up river. Since then the land has been re-farmed but in 1958 desperate for money the land owner Peter Patterson opened his gardens and fields up to the public featuring the countries first maize maze. As his profits increased he added more rides until he thought it about time he turned White Water Lake into a theme park - Lucky Lake.

Today -

The year is 1986 and after a recent visit to Europa Park (Rust, Germany) Peter Patterson has decided to invest in the new MACK Bobsled coaster in the Wild Jungle area of the park - He also developed his own Ghost Train using a system he designed in his shed. Guest numbers are at an all time high and something exciting seems to be developing at the far end of the park.

^ A new area in development - What it's going to be is currently unknown but it will more than likely feature a multi-inverting Arrow roller coaster.

Well that's it so far I'd love to know what you think and what I could do for future developments. :)

The rollercoaster being construsted over the 1986 season happened to be a modified Vekoma - not an Arrow as first thought. The ride is similar to the one constructed 6 years previous at Alton Towers but (as with most rides) the parks owner Peter Patterson stepped in during the design phase to add his own twist - most notably a vertical loop.

The rides name (and theme) have been revealed on the opening day of the 1987 season. The ride is a custom Vekoma looping coaster called Fire Fly and the ride is supposedly themed around a Spanish Villa.

Whist the ride is popular the area and the lack of ground work has caused much anger between enthusiasts and park go-ers in general, it is rumoured that Mr. Patterson will change the theme of the area and invest in at least two new rides before the start of the 1988 season. Watch this space. :D

9 years have passed with Fire Fly operating for 8 of them and then standing SBNO for the 1995 season. The park released a press release at the end of the 1994 season announcing that Fire Fly would be removed and a new area built on the area set to open in 1996 - The area is to be called Main Street and feature two new rides.

The re-theme of this area comes as little surprise to fans of Lucky Lake as Fire Fly and the surrounding area was poorly received but it lasted longer than expected and is rumoured to still be in storage somewhere on the park. :D
