You may remember my topic on TTF several months ago about the renovation to Ice Age Adventure next year, and a major new coaster in 2014.

First, the good news: Ice Age Adventure overhaul is still set to go ahead.

2013 - Park Improvements - Rumor - (9/28/12) Movie Park Germany confirmed that they are still planning to transform the attraction, “Ice Age Adventure” in 2013. No details were released on what will be done however.

Thank god, because apart from the 'round-the-corner drop', it's utter bored barnes!

Now, the bad news: the coaster has been cancelled.

???? - New Coaster - On Hold - (9/28/12) The local news reports that Movie Park Germany has called a halt to their 10 million Euro plan to build a new 45-meter tall coaster at the park in 2014. It seems the owners (Parque Reunidos) want to invest more on parks in Italy and Spain that are in need of new capital instead in 2014 and new plans for 2014 will be drawn up for Movie Park Germany instead.

What a shame. The park has such potential, but will get left behind if Phantasialand continue to expand while MPG tread water. :(

No word yet on whether the Mystery River renovation and hotel are still going ahead, but I can't imagine they'd build a new hotel before a major new coaster.

That really is a shame. A new major coaster would really make it a very appealing park. Van Helsings is fantastic, the park deserves more like that! I guess Parque Reunidos see more money by investing in parks such as Mirabilandia and Parque Warner though.

Investing in Parque Warner? That place doesn't see much!

Mirabilandia sees a *reasonable* level, but still nothing on the scale of some parks. Mirabilandia needs a lot of work to make the whole park into a good standard - it's got 4 or 5 top quality attractions and then a load of rubbish in between.

Parque Reunidos cancelled the project because they see a dramatic drop in visitor numbers in there spain and italy theme parks.
