Parc Saint Paul Takeover

I couldn’t find a PSP thread, so feel free to move this if one exists, I read today (on Instagram so apologies if not everyone can open the link) that Parc Saint Paul near Paris has been taken over by Looping:

This park has had several high profile accidents over the years, including a fatality, resulting in one of their coasters being abandoned since 2020.

I visited last year and the park was pretty quiet, although not quiet enough for me to think it would go out of business. With all the issues that this park has had over the years, I expected it to be bought out by Aspro. I’m guessing perhaps they’re taking a step back from theme parks now after having just closed Oakwood.

Looping is a surprise to be honest. When I visited, it looked like a lot of work needed doing to bring the place up to an acceptable standard. I’d say that this is a bigger job for Looping than Drayton Manor was.

Was a strange place. Seemed to have some nice theming around Wood Express, the log flume, and disco coaster but everything else just seemed like it was randomly plonked down and left.

Felt like a lot of its business comes from local groups and schools visiting.

The difference in theming from one part of the park to another is vast. The Disko and log flume’s dinosaur theming is superb and wouldn’t look out of place at a high end, top tier park, yet it’s over-shadowed by the massive empty tent opposite and the nearby abandoned coaster with giant weeds growing out of it.
