Plopsaland De Panne General Discussion

After visiting Plopsaland earlier this year and riding their log flume you could not help but notice how the theming around it was rotting away a la Chessington. I thought it would need replacing soon. They clearly thought the same and have announced a re-theme of that entire area for 2019:
If it ends up looking anything like that concept then it is going to be fantastic!
Regarding the first annoucement that was mentioned, it appears that the area around Rollerskater is going to be rethemed to the kids TV show K3:
I love what Plopsa are doing with this park!

Plopsa said:Plopsaland De Panne announces a second major investment for 2019
De Panne, October 2, 2018
Shortly after the announcement of a first investment for 2019, Plopsaland De Panne unveils yet more investment projects. In addition to the Wizzy & Woppy area, the immensely popular Tree Trunks will also undergo extensive refurbishment. The aquatic attraction will be revamped following the theme of the habitat of dinosaurs.
Just two weeks ago, Plopsaland De Panne announced an investment that would redesign the entire Wizzy & Woppy zone according to the K3 theme. In doing so, the existing Rollerskater and its restaurant will be re-dressed in the K3 spirit. Today, the park announces that the Trunks of Trees will also benefit from a complete renovation. "The Tree Trunks, an attraction that just like the Rollerskater still dates from the 'Meli Park' era, also needs to be refreshed from the ground up," says Wim Wauters, Park Manager of Plopsaland De Panne. "We believe it is important to continue to invest permanently, also in existing areas, so that they remain attractive and up-to-date," says Plopsa Group CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof.
The 'log' type attraction was built in 1989 and is part of the Castle Square. The attraction of tree trunks, currently dressed according to the theme of Samson & Gert, will be totally naked and dressed according to the theme of dinosaurs. "Given the enormous popularity of dinos with children, and after the successful integration of Dino Splash at Plopsa Coo, it is a logical decision to also introduce dinosaurs to Plopsaland De Panne," adds Steve Van den Kerkhof. "We are convinced of the continued popularity of dinos with children. Thus, we also feed development projects as part of school and educational projects on this theme. "
Hyperrealistic dinosaurs
"The Trunks of Trees will become an attraction that will offer an intense experience. In addition to the thrills experienced by the visitors during the two big drops that the attraction makes, many original elements will reinforce the experience of the attraction, through a thematization pushed ", underlines Steve Van den Kerkhof enthusiastically. "Thus, visitors will navigate through a prehistoric landscape and cross animated hyperrealistic dinosaurs. The small boat will make its way along volcanoes erupting and lava flows. "Visitors will also have a view of the route from The Dragon, the popular family attraction. The cost of the investment amounts to some 5 million euros. The opening is scheduled for the summer of 2019.

If it ends up looking anything like that concept then it is going to be fantastic!

The K3 stuff is SO POINTLESS because they're keeping all the theme elements over-sized...
Not a fan of the Flume retheme either, as where does that leave the rest of the area with the giant castle? Heidi being next door seemed to get away with the clash but this seems a bit over the top to me...

Old thread... eeeh!
I visited Plopsaland De Panne for the first (and probably last) time today. Managed to get all the credits done by 12pm ish which was fortunate considering the length of queues, and lack of efficiency from staff members, in the afternoon.
Heidi was absolutely fine for what it is, in a kids' park. For me, just too short and loses its speed a bit too much on the overbank and double up. I prefer Wicker Man as a ride, not taking theming/overall experience into account... for which they would be incomparable. Anubis however was rather good fun! The launch certainly packs a punch and the layout is fine.
The theming in the park is actually really nice, but my god the smell is awful! What are they doing (or not doing) to the water to make it reek like that?! The prices of food are also extortionate, so I'm glad we used the supermarket down the road to get lunch.
Glad to have gone, and it does have nice parts, but not a park I will be returning to any time soon!

Looopings are reporting that Plopsaland have plans in the works for a Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster.
https://www.looopings.nl/weblog/11992/Plopsaland-heeft-plannen-voor-extreme-nieuwe-achtbaan.html
It's been said that it won't be open until at least 2022, but this will be a welcome addition to Plopsa's thrill line up.
Bloody hell, this means I'm going to have to return at some point! Urgh.

Apparently it's actually a banana roll, making it one of only four in the world!Looks like a good layout, a cobra roll on an Xtreme Spinner is going to be very interesting!

I think the banana roll has a somewhat different shape. Here is the one on Takabisha, for example:And the difference is...?

Whereas a cobra roll looks more like this:
