I'll be honest my local river's cleaner than that water and that's not often clean! But in terms of the coaster good to see the vertical loop complete it looks great!

    This coaster is looking great!

That vertical drop in the back car... if it's anything like Silver Dollar City it'll be fantastic.

The overall layout looks to be more interesting and fun than Silver Dollar's. Riding with a nose peg aside, I'm really quite looking forward to this.

So Plopsa's new coaster is going to be themed to music festival!? I mean, why not! Here are some new concepts posted by the ECC on Twitter:

    It is looking pretty awesome!

At least it’ll accurately capture all the scents and aromas of a festival toilet 48 hours in...

    I don't get it.

My first thought was the Disney area, then the film. I'm not familiar with the festival so how does it lend itself to a ride theme..?

The festival is famous for 2 reasons.

    1. EDM - (I can't stand EDM and think it's the worst thing to happen to Dance music in decades)

    2. The set pieces on the stages are like something you'd see at Efteling. It really is something to behold. They do make such an effort in fairness to them. I think they might even use some of the same contractors by looking at the pictures.

Very very bold decision to go for a theme around a music festival which is about partying hard and doing drugs for 3 days. I thought it was a family park ?????

    Very bizarre all the same.

Yes, one of the 'smaller' stages at Tomorrowland comes with its own large illuminated fountain display, it's very reminiscent of Efteling.

The festival has evolved away from entirely EDM - Guetta, Axwell, Timmy Trumpet and the like - and into more straight-up techno and house that has become fashionable again of late, but it's still very mainstream and a million miles away from proper club/rave culture or the 'roots' of the genre in the queer and Black American community.. Of course there is inevitably lots of drug taking at the festival, but I'd reckon that it's such a massive brand now that a lot of people go just to gawp at the steampunk stuff, jump around and take selfies, without putting anything up their nose. Fair enough.

Agreed that this is pretty bonkers, though. When the time comes, there is only one man who should open this thing:

Other than Theme parks, music festivals are another great passion of mine. I have been to Glasto 9 times and done other countless festivals around Europe and further a field including EDC.

Always fancied doing Tommorowland but there was way too much cheesy rubbish like Tiesto and Guetta on the line ups for my liking so never got around to going. It's good to know they have started to steer away from that a bit now.

The scenary and visual stuff there looks amazing though.

A good tip for a theme park/festival blend is the usually excellent Lowlands in The Netherlands, which takes place directly next door to Walibi. You can get a ticket that allows you access to both. Although granted, the thought of doing both a music festival and a theme park in one weekend these days fills me with immediate exhaustion and a desire to take a long, hot bath.

Yeah I did Sonar festival about 8 years ago in Barcelona and combined it with a 1 day trip to Port Aventura. It can be done however I wouldn't advise doing it if it's your first time visiting that park.

The think is with Tomorrowland, the main stages are mostly EDM, which I agree is the Achilles heal of dance. Let’s hope they go for the smaller tents and get some tech blaring :p whilst they are at it, get some CO2 cannons too, or am I getting carried away :tearsofjoy:

On board audio you'd think is a given. I just hope they have planned it through. Tomorrowland is an incredibly popular brand in that area but im not sure the typical guest who go to Plopsa land are into it much. Isn't it an 18+ festival too?

Not quite the equivalent of putting the Saw theme on an Eurofighter but it's close.

I don't know why Plopsa have turned into Walibi Holland either. It's a (from an outsider's view and having no knowledge of Tomorrowland) peculiar decision from the park who have pretty much solely used the Studio 100 IPs.

I feel the theme is wasted on a Mack Xtreme Spinner. Sure, the coaster looks great, but you'd have thought Tomorrowland would have wanted bigger drops?

    :p
