Ride and Coaster Terms Glossary

This is a thread which I hope will entice more of the newbies to read discussions in these kinds of forums. I've found even myself that there are quite a few terms recently that I haven't understood or had to spend time looking up from other forums.

I think it would be good to have a thread here where we can all post different terms and acronyms that aren't completely obvious and compile them all together into a big and easy to read glossary. I'll keep editing the post to include all of the terms we produce into this OP (original post) in alphabetical order to make things simple.

So post away! Think of anything and everything that could be mentioned in this thread ride/coaster related that is completely technical or even completely simple :)

I'd suggest that you don't include park or ride abbreviations though (EP, PMBO etc.) otherwise the list will be a daunting length for new people. :)

MCBR - mid course break run.
SBNO - standing but not operating.
RCDB - rollercoaster database.

Some very basic ones from the top of my head, I'm sure there are lots more, I'll think more about it later!

:)

Whoever referee to Rita as R:QoS needs to consider why we use acronyms in the first place.

BTW (that's by the way ;) ) I think this it's a really good idea to have this list. I normally try to make sure I use the full name at least once before I abbreviate something but for all the ever so obvious ones a list is a good idea.
