Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Third time lucky with 13. We were the last riders who mamaged to get on as it then broke (cleared the queue for the 100th time day!), but got stuck in the station.

Bizzarly the train is not aligning with the air gates, they then can't release the restraints. They basically have to plug in a box and release them one by one.
oh god sounds like it's holding the dispatches up then. I saw that happening quite a bit on the smiler friday last week too actually.

Well I suppose we can be grateful with what operations we get at towers considering Flamingo land run everything on 1 train
I mean yeah, but it's still not great, wouldn't be much of an issue if reliability was good, but it's not good when you either choose to join a queue for a ride that will break down, or a rollercoaster running at a lower capacity for a peak day🤷‍♂️

Going up next week and I'll be very annoyed if at least most of the big hitters aren't open by 10. It was embarrassing enough that they had to hire in fairground rides in the first place to prop up their lineup. What a stupid decision to remove 3 of them in one season without replacement. As if their aging high capacity coasters, hanging cable car, and end-of-life monroail system, are all always going to be reliable first time, every time, every morning.

It's nearly June, and it looks like it's shaping up to be yet another damp squib of a season. A portion of X Sector is so barren that it's fenced off, no Hex, no Sky Ride, atrocious monorail queues, late opening coasters, a Dungeon upcharge where an included family attraction used to be, a newly mothballed Spa, and an abandoned Tree Top Quest.

Again, not to keep beating the same drum too often, the lack of the skyride really does make the situation with the closure of other rides so much worse...especially with the dark forest...
One ride closed, often, so the other ride queue increases rapidly.
So nip over to nemesis quickly instead.
Oh...
Time for a nice stroll in the gardens.

Thirteen has been a really poor investment for Towers, it's bar far the most inrealable coaster. Strange as it's an Intamin, I wonder if it was the wrong type of coaster for the wooded environment. Shame really as it's a solid family ride.

When coasters are having issues it really highlights the lack of flat rides. Dark forest really needs to be a priority in coming seasons
If it helps, Paultons' Head of Park Operations Manager did say in a Q&A yesterday (though definitely in jest) that he thought Th13teen should belong at Paultons Park. They could take it off Towers' hands and we'd finally be rid of the thing.

Downside, it's another empty spot in the park.

But they could put a really good coaster in up there.
There are ways and means of putting a stunning coaster in those ancient woods, without any digging whatsoever, using braces and gridded flooring like the corkscrew, all of which can be removed without trace.
I think thirteen was the single biggest flop for me at the Towers.

Would be an absolute dream to see that leave the park. It’s unreliable, a maintenance nightmare and it’s not even a decent coaster (drop aside).

Rip it out and put in a multi launch family coaster like Drayton are doing. Could even keep the crypt and backwards tunnel section. Most importantly, no “worlds firsts” please.

It's a real shame. Had such high hopes for this year. We still have free fastpasses from the opening week debacle but will be surprised if we end up going back this year.

What is the main factor behind the poor reliability? Just don't see how a park can be closed for 4+ months of the year and yet still not be running properly after 2 months of opening.

There should have been something to fill the gaping holes in their spaces.
What's wrong with a few adventure playground bits and low climbing nets, and simple slides with climbing frames that are outside every (absolutely hate 'em) family style chain pub eatery.
Comparatively cheap and easy.
I remember the paddling pool.
Sorry, doing it again.

An indoor themed play area would work well in X-sector, where the only 2 attractions are thrill coasters.

AT has an issue with clustering rides together based on what market they are appealing to, rather than integrating areas to satisfy more sets of guests

1. Cbeebies/Walliams - Young children
2. Katanga/Gloomy/Mutiny - Families
3. Forbidden/X/DF - Thrill seekers galore

That's why I think even DF should get a family flat, and X-sector as well, which would improve capacity in each area and spread out clusters of groups who would otherwise congregate in specific areas

Can anyone reasonably explain why the 4D cinema isn’t open?

This seems a glaring miss, and an easy win.

I shudder to think what the state of the building is like.

Getting a couple of cheap 15 minute 4D films must be a no brainer surely? Dare I say it with this new media company…maybe they could do a Walliams film and Henry Hound one.

Kitting it out with some 4D chairs would be a great low cost, quick upgrade. Maybe for next season

Rita, Thirteen, Oblivion an Smiler, all shut for the first hour...
Things don't seem to be getting any better, have we returned to late opening in Dark Forest, again?
...and x sector!
