Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

So that is an optimistic 300 punters per hour...one hundred happy punters on fasttrack, one hundred sad punters in the rap queue, and one hundred very sad punters an hour in the main queue.
Theoretical versus actual performance.
Can you tell they don't pay performance related pay here.
Bring back pay per ride, there would be more than three cars on the track, jeez.

If the pay is similar to what it was when I was interested, it won't attract a huge amount of people. Can get a better paying job working indoors and roughly office hours and not in the middle of nowhere.

The rides today have been horrendous… all running low and SLOW capacity it seems.

Nemesis, Blade, Galactica all opened late (10:15ish) which was fine but then 90 minutes into a 60 minute advertised queue for The Smiler it broke down, adding another 30 minutes on (120 total for an advertised 60 queue).

The same then happened on Rita, again 30 mins more than advertised (90 total). Then evacuated from the 13 queue for it to open up again 20 mins later when we had left the area.

Oblivion was next, 25 minute wait for another breakdown and 30 min delay. (30 mins advertised ended up being 45).

Headed back to 13 and waited 90 mins which was advertised at only 60.

Not good at all, it seems a lot of the ride staff don’t seem to be bothered about getting trains out quick at all.

Maybe we were just unlucky today, but from speaking to others in the queues, it seemed to be a problem for many.

As a once a year visitor, I came away early (7:30pm) after just 7 rides (10am arrival) feeling very dissatisfied.

Spinball Whizzer has experienced a lot of downtime recently. Maybe that's something to do with the cars, which is maybe why it's running on reduced capacity?

There did seem a lot of issues from glancing at the app today early on yet we were on park 9am till 8.45pm, we did have platinum and experienced minimal if no ques and we did each major ride including hex twice.

Spinball being on 3 was not helping anyone yet everything else was running on maximum amount available yet I do agree some staff were not in a hurry .

Long ques however across the park for rides, food and toilets!

Rita stopped for a bit while we waited as a group of 4 were ejected from the ride for inhaling gas in the queline/platform.

13 ceased for around 10 minutes while we were waiting.

The RAP q's were busy however most of the day particularly 13 and WM often out numbering the FT que by quite a lot !

Wickerman host was saying the que should be empty by around 22.30, then they have to put the ride to sleep and start all over from 8am...

I hope you're joking. You mean 1 single 4 rider car? I can't tell if you're joking
I was joking, I wasn't even on park just having a fun guess at why the queue was so long.

As it turns out it actually genuinely seemed to be running only 3 cars, which is diabolical.

As John said that's less than it runs over winter when there's about 500 people on park. I'd estimate on a Scarefest Saturday there was likely 15,000.

One of the busiest weekends of the year, with staff working very long hours, you are going to get long queues, breakdowns, and tired staff.
Bring me a large dose of off peak.
Empty Beach Thursday afternoon please dippy!

Scarefest weekend day. Breakdowns happen which also affect the accuracy of queue times (which I thought we'd settled by now are supposed to be a rough guide and not to be treated as pinpoint accurate). For the time of year and the fact it was a Saturday, this all sounds quite typical to me.

Looks like Spinball must be getting through a handful of punters an hour judging on the queue. Shambolic throughput

Smiler don't you dare do this to me. It hasn't opened yet and I'm getting flashbacks to last season when it was shut for a month. I missed out on it last scarefest so it better be open 28th

Funnily enough, it was actually October 11th last season. I only remember because the 11th would have been the Monday inbetween Scarefest weekends, which is when it went down last year. Imagine if it does the same this year, ha ha ha indeed. I think you'll be fine though, they just can't seem to get things open in a morning very often.

Don't worry! It opened at about 1pm, and was running nicely and efficiently through the afternoon. May have been staffing issues seeing as it opened exactly halfway through the day perhaps.

Well well I've been told that Smiler is on 4 trains today for the first time in months

The queue times seem to be quite high today. I realise it's a scarefest day but I'd have thought it would be a bit quiter today given school and colleges are all still in.
