Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

The Rita disrespect

It's a dreadful coaster and quite rough. Absolutely pointless too without being able to have any height to it. I can see why they didn't use the SW tag with it when it was built. It didn't deserve one. Hahahaha.

The only issue with removing it is Thirteen being unable to run in bad weather. The area would be coaster-less in such circumstances. That's the only issue.

That being said I wouldn't be upset if it was removed. It's bleeding awful.

I suspect it's more a case of them not filling vacancies that is causing the issue. They used to use quite a lot of external labour for winter work, I am not sure if that is still the case.

In terms of what they have open, I suspect Sky Ride is probably down the bottom of the list in terms of priorities. They're not going to prioritise having that up before one of the major coasters. Hex obviously has a number of long-term headaches, they're seemingly working on getting Spinball open soon.

If you look at the dates some of those were posted, they have been trying without success for a while, have multiple roles to fill or people are leaving as quickly as they can recruit.

It's a decent ride imo. Snappy launch that packs a punch, some very forceful corners and pops of airtime, including great ejector at the end. Running quite smooth this year. For what it does I think it's a fun ride and does more than some of the other coasters on park. Underrated hidden gem at towers and the best coaster in dark forest

Rita itself is fine, not a spectacular coaster by any means but it’s ok for what it is and has a good strong launch. The biggest problem I have with it is the typical length of the queue, it’s not something that I’d want to wait an hour for but if it were a 15 minute wait I’d happily ride it plenty of times.

But I do think the time has definitely come for the park to get a modern multi launch coaster. If the park got something Taron-esque, low and twisty with lap bars, I’d be happy for Rita to stay on site. Though if it were a case of having to remove it to get something else in then so be it.

I'll have another go now I actually can read what topic this is in.

Losing Hex so early was a blow but the park hasn't done itself any favours by leaving itself short. The Skyride having pods strewn across the backstage areas doesn't scream it'll be ready soon and I'm unsure if Spinball had something fail or this downtime was planned.

Retrosquad, particularly FunknFly, are poorly operated and unreliable for intensive theme park use. A physically short queue for Twistatron is still about a week long because of the poor ops, same with Spinjam. Baffles me it can be so slow when we know the park can operate things properly when they try.

I visited the park on Friday and availability was certainly a bit hit and miss. The worse part if first impressions. For my second visit of the season the Monorail was shut as I arrived, leading to a walk. Luckily we used the hotel entrance and got in. Then you were greeted by a closed Galactica (I assume it opened late, but was then shut by about 4pm), and was all turned off with staff stood outside, so no chance of that opening again. Followed by a closed Funk N Fly. Meaning the only open ride was The Blade in that area.

Other than the stuff that’s already closed like spinball, Skyride and hex, generally the day was fine.

Why do towers always struggle to get rides open for 10. It's 10:30 and half the coasters aren't open yet.

I’m not sure they ‘always struggle’ and it’s unlikely anyone on here will know the specific circumstances today. However it’s worth noting it was a cold morning with temps around 2 degrees at 8am which could have delayed testing.

Well let’s not say “always struggle” but certainly quite a few mornings many of the rides are not up and running at 10am.

Lack of engineers perhaps

The Smiler is closed again. I know there’s been some pretty heavy rain fall over night so wonder if it’s yet again another flooding issue. Possibly high winds as well.
