To be honest, the scare mazes aren't the best at Alton Towers, recent additions are good but I feel like ToT has had it's run now. A few years too many!

So I thought of an idea, please read below and give me your feedback. I would also love to hear all of your ideas that could be future scare mazes for Scarefest! boo!.....

Name: Mrs. Lovett & Mr. Todd

Location: In the towers, possibly ToT's route?

ROOM 1: (SORT OF LIKE A PRE-SHOW) MEAT Mrs. Lovett as she welcomes you to 1846 from the freezing Fleet Street. Take a wiff of the collection of pies on display in her pie shop. Learn about the demand for her 'special pie' with her most secret ingredient and the desire to know what it is. Knowing you'll probably want to know what it is she makes a deal, you visit her good old friend next door and when if you return she'll happily tell you the ingredients. If you're lucky, she'll even make YOU a meat pie! Trust her and take the offer? Doesn't matter, she's closing down for the night and will want you gone! (A side door will take you through to room 2). Should last no longer than 4/5 minutes.

ROOM 2: Nice of you to pop into the barbers! Sweeney Todd's so thrilled you could join him, he's got your blades all prepared. Now settle in, it'll take a while to get through all of you. Guests are asked to take a seat at the back of the room. One guest is chosen to go first and sit in the chair at the centre of the room. (To have their close shave). Actor triggers effects so tense music begins as he starts preparing blade, lights turn off and effects make the guests sat at the back feel like Sweeney is behind them. The middle chair begins to rock. When light returns the actor has gone, however, a door is open with an exit arrow showing. Hopefully, the guests use their initiative and leave through the door. Should last no longer than 2/3 minutes.

ROOM 3: Now the traditional section of the maze begins. Room 3 is the cellar where Sweeney's victims are murdered. (Actor in this room could be 'dead' bodies or Sweeney him self, wielding a knife).

ROOM 4: Section where flesh would be ground for the pie filling. Heavy machinery as the set and 'clanging' sound effects play. 'Steam' shoots out as guest walk past.

ROOM 5: Crawl section, as if you are crawling through the machines and being crushed. Actors can bang on side of the walls to create a mechanical, pounding sensation.

ROOM 6: The machines have malfunctioned and you have made it out alive! Through a trap door, the guests escape the barbers and have made it onto the safe Fleet Street. BUT, Mrs. Lovett has watched you escape! Because no-one is outside she chases you and jumps out on you (multiple actors wearing the same costume). Eventually, she falls over and is left behind.

ROOM 7: Finally safe? Of course not! Sweeney has found you and cornered you into a graveyard. Could this be your final (and everlasting) resting place? The weather has become drastically worse with thunder and lightning hitting the London streets. Utilities the ToT maze, the strobe is thunder and Sweeney is the one inside the fences. Guests flee out as another Sweeney appears from nowhere and strikes with a knife. The maze is over.

Due to room 2's special effects, I would say that maze tickets would probably increase. But for this new addition, I think it would be worth it as it's more of an experience than other mazes where it gets started straight away.

A lot of inspiration took from the London Dungeon.
Thanks for reading! :)

I think this is a great concept and something quite different too! Would like to see Something similar at scarefest!

A nice idea. The narrative works well in the dungeon. Suspect it's best staying there, given its links to the area.

Not sure if the Towers would be the best location for it. Guests enter a building with fascinating features and history and they are supposed to forget all that and imagine they are in fictional Victorian London? That feels a little odd.

I can see your point. But at the same time, Sub Species is a bit strange also. A 'sewer' full of 'alien/zombies'?

It's kind of a tie-in with NST and Nemesis. All are based on the idea of aliens underground.

I dont think there's any zombies in Sub Species.

Mechanical pounding sensation
It just sounds like London dungeon meets pie factory (at Twinlakes park)

You should definitely send this off to Merlin, for use as a Halloween event at London dungeon, but that's about the only place it would work!

As far as feedback goes, I'd say either have every single guest in the barber chair at the same time (good luck with that) or have an actor in it, as picking 1 just leaves everyone else sitting at to back confused.

The machine room sounds amazing and would defiantly be the highlight of another maze...but it simply wouldn't work in this one. What about replacing it with a kitchen?

The street scene sounds OK...but I would have a policeman appear at the end it to escort you to safety as not only would this mean that Mrs lovett, wouldn't trip over, (which would make her less scary when she needs to be at her most for the final) but would also allow for a small scene of talking to help separate the rest of the maze from the final. It would also give an excuse for both Todd and lovett to be present in the final (which would also keep the final scare present, without having to show the same character in 2 places at once)

Overall its very good though and could work well as a lates style Halloween event for London dungeon.

Edit
Right! I ruined everything and can't fix it yay

Edit
I fixed it
