    I have to admit once coasters start going so fast they need wind shields or goggle I don't see the point. You lose a lot of the experience and as Rick said it dramatically increases maintenance costs.
    This is clearly a ride built purely to break records.

    Got to say, those concepts are horribly unrealistic. There's no way that part of the F1 track in the first image would be a DRS zone...!

    Gives me Ring Rocker flashbacks. Amused to see it was still standing when they visited the Nurburgring in the summer.

    I especially like how you can almost read the words Europa Park on the water coaster boat :tearsofjoy:

    You know, I'm surprised they haven't gone for the world's tallest water coaster. :p

    I've heard that Intamin have visited the site, which is yet more evidence that it's actually happening. :eek:
    Also, this is a great analysis video;

    I'm still sceptical but if they do build it and the drop really is 520 feet then this could well be our concorde moment in the industry.

    Does anyone actually know how high and fast it is that they could build one without making riders pass out? Surely it can't be much higher than 500 feet and 150mph.

    Be a real shame if this world beating coaster is actually built in Saudi Arabia though. Its probably bottom spot of all countries in the world I'd visit. I doubt I will ever ride it.

    In theory they could make the ride as high or as fast as they want and people will not pass out because that is caused by large or prolonged g forces (the curve out of the drop would have to be very large though). The reason why most records aren't being broken anymore is simply cost.

    Greying out and general g-forces are based on the proportions of the ride’s elements as opposed to raw speed and height. Look at something like Formula Rossa, for example; the ride goes nearly 150mph and is well over 6,000ft long, but the layout is actually just a figure-8, not too dissimilar to our very own Rita. The key difference, however, is that the layout is far more drawn-out in order to deliver safe levels of g-force with a far larger speed.

    Speed itself does not cause excessively high g-forces and greying out if the layout profiling is made less tight in order to compensate for the additional speed. This is why record breakers cost so much money.

    If it does go ahead this is great news for Intamin. God knows how much money has been thrown at them to make this happen.

    Agreed. Who wants to bet that they'll build it and the g-force readings will be too dangerous? :p

    I was about to make a post about Intamin knowing how to do a basic G-Force calculation...

    Then I remembered Maverick and i305 :p
