Something funny happened while I was out yesterday, which gave me the idea for this thread;

I went to my local Asda yesterday and the security shutter fell down, so we had to be escorted out of the fire exit!
In all seriousness, luckily no one got trapped underneath it. The loud crash didn't half make me jump, though!

If anything funny happens to you or someone you know, or you see something hilarious while out and about, this is the place to tell everyone! (if you want to)

I'm not sure whether it's a funny mishap or not. Well I find it funny now but at the time it was a little different.

I was at Disney Florida during hurricane Irma!
The staff were amazing saying "and you get the hurricane experience for free"
We have some amazing photographs though of the resort post Irma and of how quickly the resort was cleaned up. Honestly you would not believer it!

This was part of a three month American journey me and the other half took. It did seem mishap filled from our terror at driving long seemingly abandoned highways in our Mustang trying to find Las Vegas (as if you can lose it) and a long diverted flight up north to Biafra falls which was diverted to the west side of American due to an incident at an airport that we never did find out what happened.

It's been an experience and laughably the absolute farce we think of Trump is nothing compared to what most Americans now think of him.

Absolute glorious trip, probably the last until the baby is born and older but so many odd and unusual memories too. I just have to lol

Some time last year, I was walking into the kitchen when, My cat ran past us, knocking me into my dad, who managed to land hand 1st, on a potato knife!

All That blood...
(He's fine now...dad that is...tabby is also fine!)

Ouch..... Glad both were ok! :)

Make sure you double check which way up the arrow points on fireworks, then triple check with a torch, especially after you've set off a dozen or so that are vertical launchers and there's only one horizontal launcher in the pack.

Then make sure you're within hand grabbing distance of the patio door like I was so you can slam it shut before anything invites itself into the house. Nobody was hurt other than pride and a small burn on my hand where one of the errant fireworks hit me.

Now that was a mishap I won't be repeating anytime soon.

I once had a firework fall over, it started spinning like Spin The Bottle meets Saw!

The carpet is still singed to this day! (I'll try take a picture as soon as I stop being too lazy to figure out how to post it)

LOL, now that sound like something like I'd used to do as a tear away teenager, our favourite was bangers in milk bottles, but I digress.

I think the carpet in my dad conservatory is slightly burnt too, one of the things shot in, hit the house door and bounced back out, at that point I slammed the door shut cutting my wife off from the action who was stood the other side of the window, but that left myself, my son and my dad exposed outside. In the few seconds it took me to grab the old man and my son and hide behind the shed, the other 11 shots had hit the conservatory leaving burn marks all up the window.

I'm happy to say I have a new found respect for fireworks, we checked the firework after and there was a single up arrow on the side, barely bigger than the thickness of a biro, it now makes me wonder if all these accidents you hear about every year are not miss-fires but people miss-reading the instructions on the firework itself as the firing direction on this little thing was so tiny even the most careful of persons might miss it and like some, it was not obvious from the shape which direction was up.

Just last week fireworks flew right across the path i was walking on when i went to volunteer at a football group!

I've had plenty of near misses with fireworks. I strongly believe they should be banned from sale to the public.
