Theme Park for Majorca?

The other day in the Shoutbox we were discussing whether or not a theme park could work in either the Canary Islands (probably for Tenerife) or somewhere in the Balearic Islands (probably Majorca / Mallorca). Since then I've had a look at what attractions Tenerife and Majorca currently have, as well as the tourism stats for both.

But I then spotted some plans on CoasterForce and Theme Park Review that a company called Theme Park Group are responsible for creating. Their plans are for a theme park that would attract around 1.5 million visitors with four themed areas to be built at a cost of somewhere between €200 and €300 million for Majorca.

Here's some concept art for the park that was proposed back in 2011 for 2015:

The themes aren't anything new but it looks like it could be a nice park, and considering none of the islands in the Balearics have any theme parks at all (other than mostly small water parks and a kind of mini Sea World in Majorca) it'd probably do quite well.

Theme Park Group published their designs and research in a document here.

Unfortunately, there's been no evidence of this park coming to fruition since this was all released a couple of years ago. However, the designers are still looking for it to be built (going off their website at least) and the question still remains:

Could Majorca sustain a theme park?

I'll move on to some tourism statistics gathered by the Govern de les Illes Balears to give people an idea of how popular Majorca is and let everyone decide whether something would be viable in the long run (or how big a theme park could go)...

Tourist Arrivals (per year)

2010: 5,925,857
2011: 8,860,221
2012: 9,144,732
2013: currently on track to see another increase in tourists

Annual Expenditure

2010: €5,507,809,148
2011: €7,887,585,274
2012: €8,256,645,577
2013: currently on track to see another increase in the amount spent by tourists
All data can be found here, including further breakdowns such as which countries tourists spent the most (usually English and German tourists), how long people stay for, what kind of tourists visited, which kind of accommodation people prefer, etc...

So with that in-mind, as well as the predicted 1.5 million guests that the park above would supposedly receive, what do other people think?

Where could a theme park be built too? Looking at where most people visit, I'd have thought somewhere between Palma Nova and Magaluf, as these are two of the most popular areas (Palma Nova for families and Magaluf for young adults and teens). They're also only a few minutes from Palma de Mallorca and the airport.

This topic can serve for discussion on both the likeliness of a theme park opening and being successful in Majorca, as well as the theme park planned by Theme Park Group.
