I was thinking that with the release of the prices for the treetops adventure at £25 a ticket, not that I have kids, but as AT is marketed as a family resort, I cant see many families paying out £100 for two adults and two kids to do the course, especially after paying to stay in the hotel, food and drink, themepark and waterpark tickets!
This then got me thinking that I bet, with everything, a stay for 2 nights as a family of 4 would'nt now be off a grand in cost. So I then costed it up, and I was right....
Fri 14th August for 2 nights
2 Adults, 2 Children (aged 5 and 6)
ATH
Hotel : £579.00
Theme Park tickets for the 2 days : £120.00
Waterpark tickets (1 child free per adult) : £24.00
Treetops adventure for 4 people : £80.00 (showing as £20 ea if booked with hotel)
Golf 18 holes : £20.00
Total: £823.00
Add:
Food for the two days for everyone £150.00
Drinks for the two days £70.00
Ride photos : £20.00
Total : £1,063.00 ( add £140 more if you want fastpass for the big 6) ( £1,203)
Do the same for :
Splash landings @ £410.00 for hotel, total cost £894.00 (£1,034 with fp)
Enchanted Lodge @ £490.00 , total cost £974.00 (£1,114 with fp)
Treehouse @ £1,775 , total cost £2,259 (£2,399 with fp)
Seriously, I don't know how families can afford to stay in the resort anymore with these prices! I certainly don't think the place is worth that sort of money.
So, heres a thought - maybe its time the resort did an "All Inclusive price" when booking a hotel package, where thempark tickets, waterpark, golf, treetops, food and drink etc is all included in the one price..... people can wear barcoded arm bands like when staying on an all inclusive holiday and eat/drink anywhere in the resort, gain entry to the theme park as often as they want, waterpark etc during their stay.
Thoughts?
