Hi all,

You might have noticed this evening that TowersStreet has gone all secure (or you might not have noticed, that's cool, I'm not angry.... :p), and you can now only access the site through HTTPS/SSL.

You don't need to do anything to change, as all the previous links will still redirect you to the right place. You can update your browser links to give a tiny bit of a speed increase though if you do bookmark us :p

The benefits of course include that all the communication between our server, our CDN (Content Delivery Network... aka CloudFlare) and your browser is now secured and encrypted by default, meaning you can't have any nasty creepy men or government agencies* snooping on your secret conversations about the bin theming for 2016... :D

Of course, quite a big change on the server for us may mean we've missed some links that might throw up a rather scary warning in your browser about having insecure content on the page, so if you do come across any we'd love to hear about them with a post here if you could, and then we'll get it fixed.

Theres a few more changes coming soon including a forum update but we'll post about those a bit closer to the time.

But @DiogoJ42 what about members? you never know if one is one of the creepy men or government agencies snooping on us.

If you have Tapatalk we have tested it and it does work fine. However you do need to ensure the following:

- Ensure you're on the latest version of the app
- If you're experiencing error messages, log out and log back into the forum in Tapatalk

That should resolve any issues. If you still spot anything after that though, please post in here with a description of what you were trying to do and screenshots/error messages if you could too please :).
 
Not a huge issue, but I (randomly! :p) noticed tonight that since the site has moved over to HTTPS browsers throw a tantrum at loading the Mibbit chat widget over HTTP.
 
Ah thanks for the spot - we don't really use chat these days so never thought to check it.

Not sure what the plans are for chat, but I'll take a look anyway.
 
Was it just me who couldn't get on here this morning until about 11:30?

it said that it had an invalid ssl or something like that. Tried going through google, favourites, links, nothing worked.

Not just you. There was an issue this morning but Joel sorted it out quickly. :)
 
Yeah we had some problems earlier this morning thanks to our CDN, CloudFlare, who suddenly decided to apply an invalid SSL to the site for us.

The red down arrows show when the site was down, it was around 9.20am I noticed there was a serious issue and turned off CloudFlare:

I've taken us off CloudFlare as soon as I noticed, so everything should be OK for now. Have got in touch with CF to let them know they seem to have some broken configuration that is causing issues too.
 
how secure are we talking towers staff secure or secret services secure ??
