Single train wickerman sounds awful! They better fix one up for Thursday. Having said that the pre show was causing issues last year too. Seemed like every third train was half full when they added it back.

Actually the one upside to 1 train operation is that they only let in about 1 train's worth of people into the preshow!

Not really. They can batch one train and have a second worth of people waiting for batching inside the actual station.

Right Alton Towers, if you really must operate one train then make sure you fill all the seats at batching, you could probably shave five minutes off the queue time that way. (And no the restraints were not faulty).

Wicker Man was about 45 minutes, otherwise everything has been 10 mins max

Where did you wait 45 from for wicker man?

Be the first through the gates and 1st train….. downside slower in the morning

I'll be going with a slightly different strat this week, ride it last, so it's hauling ass and I won't care that it's the longest queue as it will be time for dinner! As someone terrified of coasters a back row Wickerman when it's warmed up can really shock me still.

Nothing to do with that, more to do with staffing (they can't be bothered to pay their ride staff to keep the ride going for however long it takes to empty the queue).

Sadly they got rejected for permanent lighting in planning permission. I think running the lights off the mains might contravene that?

I really don't think the tiny additional draw from a set of LED lights would make more than a drop in the ocean in Alton Towers' grid draw.

They don't even have enough for that since Smiler was built without the washing machine.

On Sunday the queue was shut early as got there about 4.55 and they wouldn't let us in. Very disappointed as we ran there.
