Considering the moving parts are a turntable, some pumps, a lift and a couple of rams at the bottom of the lift for spacing boats out...

They arent paying for the China Lego parks but they did invest heavily into the Korea and New York parks which havent gone well so far... -

Merlin are not paying to build the Lego parks in China. They will operate them, but Chinese investors are the ones building them.

The theming isn’t completely flat, it’s some scenic painting on a staircase. I’m not actually expecting anything amazing on the station...

It's a 2D cartoon. I'd expect flat, cartoon like signage and props. The colours and designs match the show perfectly.
