Recorded Toilet Conversations?

It can be very hit or miss. I think I've only ever seen it work twice in all my years visiting ATH.

I believe that some ladies toilets in Japan play running water sounds in order to hide the noise of the women peeing, as they get very embarassed by the thought of other people hearing that. Maybe that was the intention at Towers? :p

I would have thought that was some of the reasoning anyway - deathly quiet toilets are always a bit eerie if you're trying to go haha!

Personally I love the thought of the chaps in the cubicle next to me hearing the mighty splash as my log drops into the depths below. Having that noise on a frequent basis would certainly be a warm and welcome addition I feel.

Yeah, I think this was part of the reasoning, and to add theming, in some sense. It backfired slightly when I realised there was no one in the toilets; thinking you can hear the full conversation of a family outside your cubicle to go outside and see a deserted bathroom was pretty disconcerting.

Now I know what it is, I think it's quite fun. I hate silent toilets anyway, they are creepy. I used to work in a cinema and doing the final toilet checks of the night terrified me as I expected someone to jump out at me when I reached the last cubicle.

Oh I remember the looping burps, farting, pooing, and 'relaxing' noises from back in the day. Can remember the humming of ITHOTMK too, but as for the ladies talking and kids then no.

Always thought it was a brilliant idea and added fun to your toilet visit. Just another piece of the magic which was scrapped. It's like one of those details that would go unnoticed to most guests but brings a smile to the more observant ones.

Merlin are far too politically correct for any kind of fun like that nowadays.

A strongly worded letter is in order. If we can get the god awful Fanta sponsorship taken off Oblivion to some extent, we can damn well get this audio reinstated.

I think they should have sensors on the cubical doors in x sectors loos that says "don't look down" when they are closed

I got back from a 2 day visit yesterday night, and there were no noises playing in any of the toilets, not even in Mutiny Bay. I got the Magic Mirror in the hotel to work although apparently it wasn't playing in the men's.

DEFINITELY petition time.

The mirror hasn't worked in the mens for as long as I can recall, but I believe it still works in the ladies.
