tree felling behind Blivvy

It is most likely nothing more than routine site maintenence so please forgive me if it is that simple.

But I was on park yesterday and noticed a bit of work being done to the area behind oblivions break run turn.

Any comments?

I have no idea what they're doing there, as you suggest, it's probably routine maintenance. They've been feeling in Gloomy Wood too I believe, or there's certainly trees with marks on.

I spotted that on my last visit two weeks ago. Seems like quite a lot of felling for standard maintenance - the area being felled is around the size of The Smiler.

The felling around Gloomy Wood and Oblivion both look like potential line ups for SW8. Could be just annual felling though, which they tend to do.

Yep i was there at the weekend and they've knocked down a fair number of trees!

i hope they plant new seeds somewhere else! ;)

I was taking to my works chainsaw lecture about this over the weekend. He said it sounds like active woodland management. then went on the tell me all about tree health, root depth etc and it impact on the local woodland areas.

Why must we interfere with nature?
Cos otherwise we end up with it looking like the gardens in areas (a complete mess).

Plus its not healthy for the trees themselves as they fight over light, and if there's any disease it's definitely best to contain it than let the entire woodland get it and so on (is there any tree surgeons or tree experts on this forum please? :))

Well I wouldn't say he is a tree expert but @Sammy probably knows more about trees and stuff than others!

Anyway I don't think towers would even think about building a ride next to Oblivion, with it being so close to the main road and village.

I must say, the amount of thinning that has been done manages Oblivion very visible on the road now.

I dunno @djtruefitt I thought there were a few wood experts on here? :D
