Having watched a few videos it seems the marmaliser and indeed most of the effects were buggered? Was that the case? :(
 
I managed to get on it 21 times today and yes all the outdoor screens seemed to be blurred, the sound on the second lift hill was freaking out people who had never been on it before when I was sat near them

At least it was consistent all day with no problems
 
I also reckon the Marmaliser's video was deliberately blurred so the press couldn't make out exactly what it read. Same goes to the Half-way Corrected point and the optical illusion room audio.

I reckon once the media finally dies down within a week or two, these will be reversed back to where they were before. Any mention of the word "correction" will no doubt spark a new article from the Daily Mirror or Daily Mail.

If they are buggered, let's hope they're fixed before Easter.

That's great to hear! Bet the media aren't happy they can't spin out a silly headline such as "horror ride breaks down after reopening from horror crash" or something along those lines especially considering there's been reporters all over the ride today from the sounds of it!
 
was great to see it running today.

i just wish the posh "half way corrected" visual and audio was still there :( real shame...

is it me or has it got really rough?
the further to the back on a train you sit the rougher it is.

Hopefully after the press have gone! corrected sign will be reinstated and so will the audio.

saw it Duel today for the first time too :)

I was on the train on first section when it was timed perfectly and was side by side with the other train, it was so cool having both running in time

It was rough and tomorrow I will will regret riding it so many times

we were up in the towers and saw it go over when you duelled. looked so cool from up there got a great view of it.

it was rough wasn't it!

can't believe you did it that many times. i would have thrown up!
 
Enjoyed my ride.

I haven't had the opportunity to visit Alton in the last couple of years so I've been largely unaffected by the Smiler being unavailable.

That said was it was a pleasure to ride it today.
 
Does anyone actually know the cause of all the audio/video beig distorted?

I am guessing it has been done on purpose, at least temporarily while the press are expected to be on site to avoid any bad photo ops perhaps?
 
There was definitely a glitch in the 2nd lift hill audio. Was distorted, cutting out and crackling really badly. If someone edited it and left it like that then they messed up as all they would have had to do was remove the "corrected" from the end of the sentence.

As for everything else I'm guessing it's because of the media presence. When we got to x sector we couldn't tell if they were playing the theme until we got right up to it, and the videos were barely distinguishable.

How the hell did you do it so many times, I've got a VIP pass (cue the hate comments) and I can do it 2 times a day.

The single rider queue always worked pretty well, I'm hoping it's quick paced when I head down this week!
