i managed 3 times and I'm not really a fan.

twice in main queue 1 in single rider.

first thing; queued about 1 hour ten
later on about 2; queued about 40 mins
single rider; queued about 5 mins (and got on together :))

For reference, the logos are now back on the front of the trains. Hopefully a sign of things to come re the other elements that aren't perfect yet.

EDIT. On at least one of them anyway

Does anyone know if this Rumour is true.

A reporter was so busy asking guests by the plaza 'if they would ride the smiler' , said reporter asked a bloke in a help the heros t shirt without noticing he was a double amputee using artificial legs.

There was a tweet from the towers team saying the logos had only been removed due to the usual maintenance cycle and would return so they should be back in short order :)

How the hell did you do it so many times, I've got a VIP pass (cue the hate comments) and I can do it 2 times a day.

Catch it at the right times.

I did it 17 times in a day on a Fireworks day. The first quieter one admittedly.

15 in the morning consecutively, 2 later... once I'd stopped being dizzy!

I just wanted to break through 250 inversions in a day though :tearsofjoy:

After 10 on the spin I HAD to take 15 mins break though that 10th was like - uh oh :tearsofjoy:

Pretty sure that's accurate. Anyway it was fun. Ridiculous, but fun.

Could have done it loads today. Only had 5/10 minute queue consistently throughout the day. Felt much rougher though, but faster. Second lift hill music was painful to hear.

Second lift hill music was horrible more of a screeching sound than anything else also the TVs was working(or not switched on)

Tbh, I'd have rather them have just turned it off. Noticed though that there was different music as you went up the lift hill.

Yea I agree nothing would have been better than what was playing
And no I didn't notice that

Rode it 5 times over the weekend and it made me realised how much I missed it! It was awesome, I didn't find it that rough either. Interestingly though, the queue for it yesterday was very quiet, didn't even go outside the indoor section throughout most of the afternoon.

I saw this person on park, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Empty! There's been no queue at the loading station for The Smiler at points - ride count is growing rapidly!

I saw that guy walking around the park but I don't know if the reporter part is true.. Although when I did see him he was in the x-sector.

So I would say that the actual reopening of The Smiler went very well indeed. Big queue, no breakdowns and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Queues for it were bound to be long on Saturday though due to the influx of enthusiasts for opening day, looks like the whole park has been much quieter yesterday and today.

The Smiler was running on three trains and they do only have three trains at present. However they are due to get five trains again but may well only ever run four trains at once.

Most of the tag lines have remained however they have removed all reference to correction, which is kind of what I expected. I suppose this could come back in time but I doubt it. The projection mapping room was spookily quiet, they need to do something like this regardless. The videos playing on all of the LED screens seemed either out of focus and/or zoomed in so you couldn't really work out what they were displaying. Unsure if this was deliberate or because they are buggered after being off for so long.

I'd imagine most of the efforts over the closed season have been regarding the operation of The Smiler from a technical point of view rather than effects etc. I hope that next closed season The Smiler recieves a full programme of TLC so that it all looks much better and gaps in the theme/story are filled.

All in all though it was great to get back on The Smiler!

:)
