Anyone have any idea what time it's open from? Might be a easy way to get to Galactica on the 24th :)

Once upon a time it used to be open nice and early to get into the park for ERT, i'm not sure about now, it may not open until 10am, same as the rest of the park. Depends what time they send someone down there to scan tickets/passes.

Thats if its still open....... they had put a big fence up last time I was there , with a hole in it for the path, but if they are to be expanding the hotel in that area, then I guess thats the end of the path....

Incidentally, anyone noticed about a third of the way along there are steps going down in to the valley..... did have a bit of tape across them last time, but does this go down to King Inga's rock as it seems to head down to a rock formation and an old path at the bottom..... which I think comes out in the bottom of the gardens by the Pagoda fountain.

Going back several years before the tape was put there you could follow the path at the bottom all the way along the edge of the valley (great views) and eventually end up at the rock underneath the Gothic Prospect Tower. I havn't tried the walk since the tape was first put up (I'm a good boy really) but I suspect you would still be able to walk all the way (unless it's gone too overgrown) (I doubt it). Ina's Rock is sort of down and left-ish when you used to come out of the gate onto woodland walk from the hotels. Obviously there is a fence there now as Ina's Rock is part of public right of way/footpaths and officially outside of the park. Ina's Rock can be reached from a couple of directions from outside the theme park. One is the field next to the lodges/hotel (or at least you used to be able to) and the other is from the disused railway line in the village. Nice walks :)

Edit: I've marked some points on an old Ordnance survey map (pre-hotels etc).
Inas%20etc_zpsdfaeooxd.jpg

A = Ina's Rock
B = Pretty much where the path leaves the old railway line in the village which leads up to Ina's Rock (eventually)
C = Where the Hotels/lodges are now
D = Area where you mentioned the steps on the Woodland Walk (you may be able to see the 'MS' on the map which is the white milestone you can see on the Woodland Walk).
E = Near the Gothic Prospect Tower

You can see 2 walks marked on the map (unless it's too small). The 'Rock Walk' which is the one that runs along the bottom edge overlooking the valley (the one which was taped off) and the higher 'Quixhill Drive' which is now known as the Woodland Walk. They both terminated near the Gothic Prospect Tower as you can see and were both historically used as methods to travel to the house. Forgive me if I'm slightly out on distances on the map as it's hard to judge without the hotels but that is the basic picture. I know this first hand as I've also walked them all several times with the map :)

Can't go in to detail as I'm just about to go out to work, but I'd say it's around 25 mins across the flat from the station along the old railway line (you'll eventually come to a bit of an opening on the left), and then about another half an hour up the paths that go up the hills towards the rock. You have to do a bit of a zig-zag up the hill but you should find it eventually :)

Looking at the park map for 2016, what on Earth is this meant to be??

If you zoom right in I think they're meant to be "spooky" eyes in clouds, linked to Dark Forest. That map is a mess, it really doesn't look nice. There hasn't been a nice map since 2007 :(

does anyone know how busy its likely to be on Friday? Seems very quiet yesterday and today but I'm aware Friday is a bank holiday. Didn't someone have historic info on the wait times that he collected using a server linked to the ride times website?

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but what has happened to oblivion's shop? Fenced off after the photo point.

Isn't @Sku doing that?? Although I think he only started it mid summer last year

As mentioned I only started in Summer 2015. If I were to guess though I would say Friday will be the quietest day of the 4 day weekend. Saturday and Sunday are always the busiest days on bank holiday weekends, and the Monday leads into the Easter holidays for those on multiday breaks. Friday more of an "arrival day" for hotel and b&b visitors.

Will be able to verify after the fact as still collecting queue times, but that's not much use to you at the moment!

As mentioned above,
Skyride closed all day today,
staff "Couldn't say why..."
My fat old feet are killing me with all the walking.
Lovely first visit of the season though,
walk on everything all day.
Hope Skyride closure isn't constant off peak.

I'd imagine that with queues so short today, management would see Skyride as pointless. Shame, as it is so much easier than walking, but I think that is the case. Hope you enjoyed though, must have been great to have walk on rides all day
