Honestly Towers are treading carefully as they very well should be. I don't understand why people are arguing this matter? maybe 'Correction' has nothing to do with the loss of limbs but its simply a way for AT to cover their backs in case someone were to take it the wrong way and i do not blame them right now.

Now that The Smiler is back in action does anyone know whether or not the audio/video that was cut from Oblivion last year following the accident has been reinstated?

"Welcome to eternal darkness" was missing from "Welcome to the unknown; welcome to eternal darkness; welcome...to Oblivion." today. Wasn't paying enough attention to listen for other parts of the audio.

That's a shame :(

On the plus side, it seemed pretty well chopped out. If you didn't know it used to be there, you wouldn't realise there was anything missing. :)

Agree with @RussellH - the editing is pretty good. The TV's with the Lord's of light and dark were still off. I can see these never reverting back to normal unless someone in marketing makes an effort to bring these back in a few years time.

Personally I think the smiler theme is more altering the mind rather than body.
The correction is changing the mind to then belong to the smiler.
If people want to take offence they will find something no matter what is done, the ride being open would be enough for most who want to make a big deal out of it imo

I don't agree with this. The video in Oblivion's station is pretty obvious that it has chopped out since when the Lord of Darkness says "Welcome! To Oblivion" after "Welcome to the unknown", it zooms out much faster. Although at least the speech still flows okay.

Was able to finally ride the smiler today after what felt like too long. Was nice to see it all in action. The music in the projection room was on, and "time to get corrected" was playing every so often too. The actual ride itself looks very grubby and dirty and I hope it gets tlc soon. Most of the screens have visible areas in which pixels are either dead or missing certain colours including the marmaliser screen. Most of the projectors were unaligned in the projection room as always which was a shame because it doesn't look like it would be a difficult job to align them properly. The giggler didn't seem to be working but I think I've only ever seen it working once and that was during 2013. The smoke in the station wasn't working either. Wish the music was a bit louder around the ride too, it seemed very quiet.

The ride itself has got quite rough in my opinion. It was never super smooth to begin with but I found myself having to brace for quite a few of the jolts which kind of takes the fun away. The logos are back on all of the carriages which is nice. Have to give credit to the staff in the station as they were loading trains very quickly. Managed 5 rides in an hour or so! The trains duelled a lot of the time today. Wish they could always get them to do it, it makes the ride experience so much better in my eyes. Nothing quite like waving at the other carriage as you're both leaving the lift hills!

I wouldn't say it is that rough, I only find bracing for inversion 12 to be of any benefit, the rest of the ride is smooth enough. Then again, the ride directly above this for me is Wild Mouse. Probably says a lot.

It needs a bloody good refurb already....but then it has been stood for months whilst AT decided what to do with it. Sadly I think its days are numbered. It won't live as long as nemesis has say

Completely agree with you. And like many have said and I said on re-opening day... It's rough. Such a shame as that ride very smooth would be so much more enjoyable.

Accident or not I reckon the smiler would be in a similar state even if it didn't end up being stood around doing nothing for months... Quite silly considering its not even 3 years old yet!
