Rollercoaster Restaurant: General Discussion

Anyone know if they are still going to honour existing bookings in the Peak period? Already made a booking for later in the year before they made the change
They askd me if I had a booking (this was at peak time), before showing us to a table. They do honor existing bookingd

I'm back from a lovely 2 weeks break. My wife and I eat at the Coaster restaurant Tuesday evening.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely eat there again.

The manager catered for my wife needs without any problem. My wife had I had a nice meal for two, we had a table for 4 all to our self and we didn't even feel like we were sharing our table section with two other adjoining tables. Ordering was simple and our special instructions to the chefs where adhered too with out any problems.

The restaurant wasn't busy at all.

Just to sum it up...

.....self service restaurant at a premium.

We also love the new coaster walkway back to the hotel.

Our verdict 10 out of 10 :)

ps..Talking to the staff about not being able to pre-book a table over lunch time, they said not that many people were pre-booking and that most people were turning up for a table just like they do with the other restaurants in the rest of the park.

Had an evening meal at the Roller Coaster Restaurant today. What an restaurant, the food was amazingly well cooked and prepared. It was everything I was expecting and more!

Good news, I'm going Tuesday! There will be 7 of us so should hopefully take up most of a table.

Oh yes, have all my reservations done for the week! It's just a shame you can't reserve other park restaurants.

Had tea there tonight. The food was great! wonderful quality and quantity. Drinks were a little expensive though.

I wish the menu told my daughter and her friend that the burger came with fries, so they didn't go and order another side of fries to be wasted

I believe it does tell you about the burgers coming with fries, but it is not immediately obvious.

Well when I went there 2 weeks ago they definitely weren't served in brioche bums.

Food was relatively good and not too badly priced (just below Frankie and benny's quality perhaps. Drinks were very overpriced for what they were. £3 for soft drinks and £4.50 for alcoholic ones, ouch!

Atmosphere was generally good too, I really liked the lighting but it did seem the music got s bit repetitive during our time there. It doesn't quite beat Food Loop but would definitely return.

Hi Guys, there are seven of us heading to AT next Saturday (1st Oct) and I'm trying to book us in to the Roller Coaster restaurant for dinner. The booking website is currently not showing any available tables - is it worth checking on the day when we arrive or just showing up at the end of the day and seeing if they can fit us in?

Many thanks b

I wouldn't get my hopes up of getting a table. If they say they are booked I have found that means they are full.
I would have a backup plan. Just in case.
But it's worth a shot if you are on park.
No harm in asking.

Cheers for your reply.
I think we'll go for lunch instead as we want to visit before the season ends.

First time eating here on Saturday and thought I'd share my thoughts.

We waited about 20mins to get seated which was fine as I got to listen to the Glactica Soundtrack on repeat. :D

First impressions are it's very nice inside and has some wonderful nostalgia in there. The menu system is a bit more faffy than Europa's but everything arrived correct so no complaints there. The food did take about 25-30mins but the restaurant was full. I adored the intermittent ride journey with lighting effects and music, it created a great atmosphere and was my favourite part of the whole experience.

The food was average really, I paid £16 for a rump steak which was okay if a little pricey, I'd say gastro pub quality more than a more up-market dining experience and certainly not as good as my steak at Emperors in ATH.

Overall it's a nice addition and whilst the food is a tad pricey and hit and miss it's a good experience. I actually preferred it over Europa's as the food I had there was the worst of the trip.

Mmm, yes, one of the worst aspects about Europa's edition is that the food, while not bad, is some of the worst on park. Whereas at Alton it's probably the best outside of the hotels.
