Trip Planning 2023/24: Information, advice and questions!

Thanks Dan! Unfortunately the event ticket was sold out for the date I wanted - so had to get the combo anyway!

I'm going 29th - 30th October, so am expecting it to be busy, but just how busy would you estimate it gets during those dates?

Also how do the mazes work, is it hands-on-shoulders jobs like in the UK? How many are batched into groups etc.?

Thanks!

Hey Matt also at Europa park this weekend,Im doing phantasialand 29th, Then Europa park on the 30th and 31st October

Hope it was OK... Europa-Park have put out warnings about guest volume this weekend, right up until 1st November.

It wasn't too bad to be fair. Saturday we got most of the smaller rides done and then did Horror Nights where we didn't queue any longer than about 30mins for the mazes. Sunday was very busy, but we took a last minute decision to stay in the El Andaluz last week, so we got the early ride time which was great for getting the bigger rides out the way. Then the rest of the day we just explored all the areas and did smaller rides again.

Was still a great weekend and the park looked fantastic with all the pumpkins and extra theming!

Afternoon Folks,

Hope you're all well?

Just a quick one: Planning a short trip back to Europa from Friday 13th-Sunday 15th Jan - all of the hotels are fully booked, has anyone been on this weekend in the past? Should I expect it to be incredibly busy?

Thank you!

Huh. Seems a bit odd to have that extra weekend thrown in. Is it some kind of German holiday?

Not sure dude, all hotels are completely sold out though (And most in Rust!)
May have to do mid December instead, what's it usually like around then?

This weekend is a bonus weekend and the park is not usually open. DJ Bobo is playing his new world tour that weekend so that is probably why the hotels are full. Park hours are 11am to 8pm.

It is unlikely the park will be too busy. In winter, the worst it gets is 30 minutes for Blue Fire (usually...!).

Hi, I've just joined the forum as I'm going to Europa Park in December, can't wait. This will be our second time as we visited in summer 2015, staying in a Silver Lake wagon one night, then a night in Colosseo.

Please move this if in the wrong section, but I have a question about our trip that's worrying me. Our hotel is booked for Tuesday 20th Dec and we are staying on a 20% off deal, so we've paid for our park tickets as well. Will we be able to pick up the tickets before checking in as that is only at 3.30pm?

The idea is we arrive at 10am.

Thanks, Dave

Hi @EuropaDave, welcome to TowersStreet! I have moved your post to this existing trip planning thread. You should be fine collecting your park tickets when you do arrive, just pop to the reception desk of whichever hotel you are staying in.

Have a brilliant time, Europa is more beautiful than ever during the winter season.

:)

Hi guys, Couple of questions.
1) Were is the best place to get info from for summer 2017 for buses and trains from Basel Airport to Europa?
2) Does anybody have any links to info on private shuttles from Europa to Basel Airport?

Shuttle here

Train times are not yet available. Similar to the UK, you'll get them 90 days in advance at the Bahn website.

Hi, I'm going next month, flying to Basel airport, then planning on getting to Basel Badisher Banhof either by bus (stop outside the airport) or train from St Louis station, then purchasing a Baden Wuttenburg Card which is 28 euros for 2 adults and 2 kids. This allows 1 day free train and bus travel (Dbahn buses only) in the Baden Wuttenburg area. Basel to Freiburg, then change for Ringsheim, then bus to Rust. Hope that's correct!

Same journey on the way back.

Shuttle from Basel is 99 euros each way? Too much for me!

Note: St Louis is in France and as far as I recall, the Baden-Wurtemburg ticket will not be valid from here.

My tip will be to get a taxi from the airport to Basel Badisher Bahnhof. It will cost about the same as the bus + tram to the station (as the bus doesn't go to Basel Bad, it goes to the other station, so you then need a tram too!)

You will need some Swiss francs for the taxi. Unsure on cost - probably about 40/50 swiss francs (£30-40?). The bus plus tram will be a bit less, but take about 5 times as long. Depends on your time.

Use www.bahn.co.uk for your train departures to Ringsheim, making sure you select local trains only.

:)

OK, thanks. Yes sorry, should have explained that better, St Louis to Basel SBB is 2.2 euros each (kids half price), not part of BW card.

Can anyone offer advice on where to eat? We're there 3 days. Eaten at Food Loop before and Silver Lake saloon, so will probably do that again for lunch/dinner one day.

Don't want to blow the budget, what's the See-Restaurant like? Or anywhere off park good?

Loads of places for a solid meal on park. See Restaurant, Spices, Fjord Restaurant, Restaurant Mille Fleurs... you name it.

In the evening, Apres Park Pizzeria is good value.

:D
