To be fair, from the plans and from what's being built so far from the outside it will look just like ATH, so at least it will fit in with the surroundings.

I do think people are probably moaning more about this hotel because it's CBeebies, I bet if it was an adult hotel people wouldn't be moaning as much!

Is it the same as ATH then? Thought it would be the same colour scheme as Towers Street now. Haha ;) xx

It's so sad that all they have to bang on about is a hotel being built. If only Nemesis ST was being relaunched and a new flat for 2017. Now that would make a topic and some interesting facebook updates. Also some customers to visit the park. It doesn't look like the hotels are booking as fast as hoped judging by all the emails and Facebook feeds. (So that was a great investment! ! ;-)

I was talking about a proper thrill flat not some space version of flying jumbos in cbabies land. Can you imagine what some teenager or thrillseeker will comment on Facebook if they start getting feeds about the two Cbeebies attractions! They will really be heading up to AT for those!! They need to restore the balance (like in 1997) Can I ask, what attraction have they added since 2014 to appeal to us guys??

I'll believe it when I see it! Hopefully it is though, a show outside of CBeebies is badly needed, even if it is just a previous one rolled out again.

:)

Was just reading through Merlin's 2017 Ride Safety booklet and it states on the page after the Galactica image,

'Our ride operations and maintenance teams receive ongoing status information via computerised control and messaging systems. Any detected abnormalities will automatically shut down a ride safely to allow for investigations to occur. Finally, rides have back-up power supply in case of a mains power failure.'

Is this true? Do all rides have a back up power supply?

The legalese reader in me notices that they don't state all rides have a back-up power supply, just that "rides have a back-up power supply", so as long as there are at least two rides across all of their parks worldwide, they're covered. ;)

I have been released from a Smiler train via the use of what looked like portable (and potentially battery-powered) boxes that plug in to the train - which I think was to release the harnesses.

Lol, fair point there!

Merlin have a "ride safety booklet"? o_O

Yeah, found it on this Bloomberg site the other week, so downloaded it as a pdf and completely forgot about it. Went to clear my downloads folder today and decided to give it a read. Has a load of jibberish about "safety never ending".

It's about 30 pages and goes on about ride safety and how they engineer it into attractions. Seems more like a PR document more than anything.

I hadn't noticed the first time I looked but isn't it SLC track with a standard coaster train plonked on top?
Actually, I think that bit is Arrow Suspended (nope, I think it's Vekoma SFC) track.... with an Intamin launch train on top. :banghead:

@_lewis97 Hi Lewis, this won't be returning this season.
Is this true? Do all rides have a back up power supply?

I should imagine this will be purely for evacuation reasons only, I doubt the back up supply will be enough to run a ride in full, just like any emergency exit lighting, just there to assist you exiting a building in an emergency as appose to illuminate Blackpool seafront ;)

The Smiler's release packs live under the op cabin stairs when I last saw. Backup power is required to run exit illumination etc
