If the quality of temporary vinyls (on closed game stalls opposite the construction site of a multi-million pound wood coaster) are going to make or break your day, I'm afraid there is no helping you.

Objectively speaking, that has to be the absolute worst thing in the history of Towers.
They almost went total Six Flags...

Oh come on jeeez there is no pleasing some of you. If they had left the boarded up units people would complain, so they make a bit of an effort, spend some money and put up these pictures over the boards so at least it doesnt look so bad..... and people still moan!!! Least they made an effort lets give them credit for that!

To be fair other than going to sealife or to look over the fence at SW8 there is no other reason to go to that end of the park.

I'm sure they'll be back next year anyway with them opposite the brand new ride.

I doubt that this years map has any relevance in the entrance, somebody just reading too much into it. This years map probably gives that impression because they have opened up another path running parallel to the haunted hollow as an alternative for the pathway that they have closed

I've seen the map and it doesn't look like SW8 is in Gloomy Wood at all. Besides, that would go against the plans submitted for the ride, as they suggest that the entrance will be where the Flume's was.

Apparently it's listed on the map as in Gloomy Wood, yet its nowhere near it? Who knows... I'm surprised it's on the map at all to be honest.

I really hope it isn't themed to Gloomy Wood though. It makes no sense given the location, and the last thing the park needs is another dark, spooky theme.

It actually suits Gloomy Wood very well, and I'm quite chuffed because I used to draw geeky plans for a Gloomy Wood coaster down there on the Flume site, with the queue leaving from Haunted Hollow and following down the old railway path. It actually makes layout sense surprisingly well and would give Gloomy Wood a much needed expansion (it can be a cracking area and beef out the Norther part of the park on the way to Nemesis).

A big fun dark ride and a big coaster, hidden away in a real wooded area (or seemingly so from guest-facing areas) would be fantastic. Yes, I'm sure it will be another "dark" theme unfortunately, rather than offbeat and spooky like Gloomy Wood originally was.

I hope they don't use this as an opportunity to 'modernise' Duel by making it miserable, grey and dark (or some flavour of the day IP), instead of just restoring it as a fresh faced Haunted House like it deserves - and would be a fantastic family attraction.

But who knows, maybe it will another wedged-in, badly laid out extension to an existing area like we've seen Merlin produce many times before, unfortunately.

Last Year of Duel and Haunted Hollow? Yes Please! Duel turns 12 this year and the original Haunted House lasted 12 years before being rethemed. And Haunted Hollow is fun but it doesn't look to last much longer so I would predict a retheme of that too. I prefer a whole new area of a theme park over just one new ride.

Also has anyone picked up on the fact Hex has a small 'Back For 2017' and Cuckoo Cars has a massive sign.

EDIT: RIP all 2D nice looking trees on the map. Down with the fake CGI(Almost Typed GCI) Trees!
