I Like many of you am an old time member of this site. Revisited the other day as there is still some great material in there but I have to ask - does anyone know what happened? It just died one day. There was a false dawn a few years back on Facebook but notihjbg since. Very odd

I don't know exactly what happened but I'd imagine it came down to time. Towers Almanac was a great site, it was the first Towers fan site that I came across when gaining an interest in Alton Towers and theme parks. And as you say there is still some brilliant content online!

Would be a shame if that content went offline one day. Does anyone know the owners ? Would be good to at least buy the content and save if from oblivion

I used to love that site, had excellent content on there and it's a shame it just naturally died. My favourite Towers site alongside the Old School TTF.

Towers Almanac and TowersTimes were the two sites that I frequented on a daily basis when I first got interested in Rollercoasters - Then Towers nerd. The only to main ones still going are Towers Street and Towers Times. Such a shame when sites close, but I suppose people move on and if there is no one willing to take the reigns then its curtains close. I'm just grateful that there are sites like this that we, like minded enthusiasts can have discussions on.

The bloke that started ATA got a job in the industry and had to step down from it.
However i don't know who took over from him.
