Just been rewatching the first episode thing with that Elliot Crawford guy, does anyone else think the focus on Nemesis merch is a little ... strange? I can't tell if its just bad/cheesy writing making the dialogue feel forced or whether its actually something they want us to focus on. Is there any way at all they're trying to tell us that the new ride might somehow be linked to Nemesis?

I remember in some of the old marketing for Nemesis there was a focus on pagans and ancient rituals , so maybe the wicker man theme might somehow link into that? Maybe the people in the forest are sacrificing other people to the Nemesis creature? No clue and it sounds silly now that i've written it out, but i cant see any reason why they'd put such a large focus on Nemesis' merchandise.

The old logos and everything for Nemesis were so much better

Yes! I've been saying this for ages but people keep telling me the old logo was tacky. Makes no sense though since the Forbidden Valley logo and other signage didn't get changed in the rebrand but oh well.

Dunno, I didn't detect any connection, but it was nice seeing that old merch. The old logos and everything for Nemesis were so much better than the crap early 2000's rebrand. I don't understand why they ever did that, its not been done on other rides.

It was in 1999, rather than the early 2000s, and it did look crap then, especially next to Oblivion's sleek, millenium-ready branding and accompanying merchandise. Now, nearly twenty years later, and the original logo looks good again, because that kitsch style has held up better than the marketing department might have anticipated.

Both the Nemesis logos are pretty cool to be fair.

I don't see why they can't just use them both on merchandise.

Has Bohemian Grove been mentioned yet? I'd preface this by saying I acknowledge Alex Jones is a controversial (and rightfully so) character.

But in terms of a pagan style ritual and sacrifice to fire... it has similarities to the Wicker Man theme.

Not gonna lie, I think a parody of Alex Jones sneaking into Bohemian Grove would be pretty funny in the context of the Towers/Wicker Man.

I couldn't remember if this had been mentioned before, but has anyone seen these ever so typical Merlin style light fittings SW8 will be having?

Surely they could of recreated some of those Mutiny Bay style lights, there's dozens of them on Galleons.
Instead it looks like they had a few left over from Galactica and though heck lets use them...

Unfortunately it's a rather typical Merlin approach to rides it seems now. They will happily spend millions of pounds on the ride and area, but little details they will chuck something cheap in. The gruffalo at chessie is very nice, even the entrance is actually okay. Then you have the disabled entrance which has a cheap flat sign, that looks out of place compared to the rest of the ride and area, probably an after thought. A bit like these lights.

Suppose we should be greatful they are actually adding lighting, which means it won't be flooded in speedy hire lights for scarefest for years to come.

What would a set of wooden bollard lights cost them extra? A grand? At least these will match those glass barrier things in the courtyard....
