UPDATED - Molly Crowe scare maze idea

Hello there TowersStreet members!

As some have you may have read, yesterday I presented 'Mrs. Lovett & Mr. Todd' a scare maze idea. After some constructive critisism, I too agree that it's probably not the best for AT. So, I have also had this idea in my head and would love your feedback.

Name: Sweet Screams

Location: Inside towers

Number of bags on your head: 0!

General Idea -

The talk of Alton this Christmas is Molly Crowe. The peculiar ghost child. But, she's just a child. It's her 12th birthday and to celebrate she's invited the kids of Alton to sleep over in the Alton Towers! She's even got a party entertainer to come. However, when it comes to the day of her party no one turns up except the entertainer. What happened after that we do not know. All we know is that Daniel Johnstone was never saw again. The police have denied investigating due to the supernatural manner of Molly. Join the local community and find out what happened to Daniel Johnstone on the cold December night.

Queue Line - The usual, outside then enter inside. 'Missing posters' placed on wall and fallen on floor. Smashed glass bowl in the middle of table, etc. (Spooky props)

Entrance - No more than groups of ten.

ROOM 1: Empty tower room.
Daniel's brother/sister, William/Margret is the lead of the community search. Guests will meet Daniel as he briefs them of the story 'in case they're not local to Alton'. He commends them for helping out. He gives the leader of the group a small torch to help them see. The actor then tells them to go ahead while he waits for more helpers.

ROOM 2: Door is left open. Guests break into the towers.

ROOM 3: Party Scene. Guests walk through a room with balloons and Buntin (all destroyed/fallen down). Center of the room is a party table with rotten food and treats. A model/dummy of Molly is sat alone in the corner facing the wall. Demented party music playing. No scares in this room, just to build the atmosphere.

ROOM 4: Tunnel of yellow and red balloons. Party music continues. Popping SOUND of balloons and air cannons gives guests a little fright.

ROOM 5: Room set-up like the place where Molly's friends would sleep. Room has blankets laid out on the floor. Some blankets have people-shaped dummies underneath to build up atmosphere as if someone is there.

ROOM 6: Wreckage. Boxes and party gear all messed up around the room. Meet a terrified local who is also on the hunt to find Daniel.

ROOM 7: Search equipment in boxes and hard hats etc. Local searcher warns guests to find their nearest exit, mentioning 'it' is with them. The local has a scar down their face.

ROOM 8: Guests have to make a choice. One sign says 'Exit' with an arrow pointing to one direction and another sign says 'Kitchen' with an arrow pointing the other direction. The next rooms in
RED will be if you choose Exit and the rooms in GREEN will be if you choose Kitchen.

Room 9: Crawl section with pieces of string dangling from the roof to get in guests faces.

Room 9: crawl section with slashed pieces of curtains dangling from the roof and a curtain at the end of the tunnel to cover the exit of tunnel.

Room 10: Local searcher trying to open the door but it's locked. They suggest you carrying on to find another exit. The door suddenly opens and the actor is dragged through screaming. Then a locking sound effect plays.

Room 10: Counter tops with rotten vegetables and rusty knives. Soup cauldron bubbling with an arm inside. As guests are leaving Molly appears from behind the wall to scare them. She shouts 'It's coming!'.

Room 11: Both rooms lead to this room. There is a door/barrier preventing guests from leaving. Empty room with a window and a silhouette of Molly throwing chair with her 'mind' at the clown entertainer and attacking him. Guests can hear Molly in anger shouting that no one turned up. Entertainer says, ''Well no surprise Molly. You're evil in the eyes of this town.''. Lights flicker then fade off. During this time the clown opens the barrier and steps into position. When the lights return the clown is stood in the doorway (that guests entered) wielding a butchers knife. The clown screeches and chases guests out.

Room 12: Local appears to be dying with his body 'slashed'. He says that he's rung the police himself so they'll be here soon. So for your safety, you should continue and get out of the towers immediately.

Room 13:
Sirens playing in the background. A police officer (old style with the tall rounded hats) asks where the wounded is. They say that they've got an exit for anyone inside through the back of the towers. The officer mentions that they are unaware of the whereabouts of this murderous 'clown' so keep on the lookout.

Room 14: Mirror maze to find the exit. Tense music plays and
a bit of mist coats the floors. Certain mirror panels can be opened and used to scare. Lights can flicker on and off during the hunt to find the exit.

Room 15: Final corridor/room has again Molly in the corner but this time stood up. Her head is down and she starts rocking. When she turns around the front is actually the clown and for the final time, he attacks the guests as they exit the towers.

Hi @Jammy, just edited your post a little to make it clear that it's your idea and not something official from the park! Also removed the poll as I think people can make their opinions clear in replies rather than a yes/no format. :)

Okay thanks for your help!

Right 1st of all, the clown is WAY too much, WAY too soon and popping balloons seems too impractical for something running all day for a month, maybe for the extreme version, but nothing less.

After the bedroom, what about another encounter with the locals (just to keep that plot point present) this could also be used to set up pretty much anything. That said, I would start bringing back parts of the original story here as if not, then you might as well remove molly crow entirely!

Apart from having the clown turn out to be a fear demon, I don't know what else to suggest, as I have haven't experienced the original and so can't say how to link it with the original, and that would be 90% of my feedback...sorry...

"Too much too soon"? You realise the concept of scary clowns has been around since clowns began, right? It's not just a fad from last year. Hell, Towers had a clown themed maze only a few years ago.

I meant in the context of the maze!

You enter a murder scene and see a demon girl crying in the corner, unnerved, you continue onwards to discover what really happened that night...CLOWN SCREAMING DOWN HALLWAY AAAAARRRRRRGGGG!!!!!

I was saying that having a clown attack, right out the gate, would just ruin any idea of suspense!
Hell I would even argue that the bed ghost, is a bit too much this early in the maze!
( Assuming its going for the suspenseful slow build up approach that it sounds like it is)

.

I'm sure that they can find someone who would be prepared to blow up all those balloons (Cough "Sandbrooke" ;))

On a serious note, in the dispatching bay, you could give each guest member a balloon to blow up and place in a large container before entering the maze, problem solved ;)
