All new build water rides have to use a clean supply of water under H&S legislation. For the water that will be splashed onto guests. This has been the case since the mid 2000,s. This makes the two first points in your reasoning irrelevant because, a natural lake like the one the Flume was in, is no longer a practical spot to put a water ride. They would never ever get planning permission to isolate that lake and replace the lake with a man concerete lined lake using clean, chlorinated filtered water. The type required by law for new builds, as the water will be splashed onto guests. They would have more hope removing the lake all together (which it appears they have done)

Secondly, as it is not natural water being used. The location a water ride could be can be anywhere. As They can just truck the water in. Like they have done with Vallhalls water many times.

Which legislation would that be? Legionella can be controlled in water easily and AFAIK from reading L8 theres no requirement to use fresh water supply on everything.

The Smiler and Th13teen? Neither of those were bog standard out-the-catalogue coasters.

The Smiler? Yeah it was the first infinity coaster, but that's basically a bigger version of the eurofighter. It's pretty much a compact version of a standard sit down looper.

Thirteen. I'll give you that one.
Although the whole drop track thing was technically already done by Mauer with Winjas - only difference being the track doesn't bounce back up on Th13teen.

Frankly there are more exciting and innovative manufacturers out there than B&M these days, its not the 90's anymore when they were unquestionably the best. Mack, RMC, Intamin and Vekoma are more appealing than B&M right now IMO.

Winjas has the "seesaw" bit at the end, but I'd hardly call it a drop. Though arguably, it is far more fun than Thirteen. ;)

B&M would engineer a new coaster suitable for Towers if the will and imagination where there.

And money. B&M are on record 4 years ago or so of saying they're interested in developing a 4D coaster. Nothing has yet happened and I can only assume that is because it would cost an absolute fortune!

:)

True. Of course it would be a massive financial gamble for them, but a gamble that's paid off 3 times. The B&M coasters they have certainly didn't come cheap, but they encapsulate everything that is good about the park and have paid for themselves over the years.

Of course the other way of looking at it is that they are easily surpassed prototypes, bit I think that's only because the park has stopped making them. It's not fanboyism to say that Nemesis, Oblivion and Air still command a great deal respect and admiration.

Would work very well to replace spinball as I cannot see that staying much longer. Hopefully not on spinballs site though :)

I think the issue is that a Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster would be more aimed at thrill seekers, and Spinball is very much aimed at families. I reckon they could coexist together OK.

I agree but I'm not 100% sure some members of the gp would understand. I would love spinball to stay but I just don't see this happening long term with the height of it and other factors.

I'd rather see a Mack Multi Launch than a Mack Xtreme Spinner if I'm honest!

If SW9 is a thrill coaster, I would like to see a Intamin/Mack Multi Launch with interactions with some other rides in the park. Both Thunderlooper and Rita were rushed so they could get a new major ride quickly and cheaply, So it would be nice to have a launch coaster which has had as much thought as the other major coasters in the park.

I think a standard multi launch coaster is unlikely now that Icon is being built. Unless it has some gimmick to it, like a wooden multi launch or a spinner, I don't see one being built anytime soon.

Multi Launch Wing coaster, Done. No one can say it takes thunder away from Icon or The Swarm then.

World's first, Check. Wing coaster, Check. New launch coaster, Check.

Yes! That's a brilliant idea @Bert2theSpark! Pair it with a good theme and you've got yourself one of the best coasters in the UK! Now if only Merlin read these boards...

And I imagine they would be fairly cheap. If Merlin do read this I can see them being interested now cheap is mentioned
They said that they are reducing capex by £100m between 2018 and 2021, so this is perfect!

RMC have said they can launch their T-Rex coasters :)
This would be perfect for towers as a replacement for Rita, it would be so good to have an RMC in the UK. It would be only the second RMC in Europe, it would certainly draw enthusiasts to the park!

I wish Merlin thought like that, the reality is if they relied on enthusiast business alone they would have no business. Regrettably we make up a very small percent of custom
