So over the next 10 or so Years what do you think will happen to forbidden Valley? Its been pretty neglected in terms on new flats and coasters , it had galactica in 2016 but it hasn't had anything new since 2002 when air opened ( Idk when ripsaw opened so i might be wrong) What do you think will happen in the future? Will anything be removed or new things added?

Other than possibly The Blade's closure, I don't personally see anything major happening in FV in the next decade.
tbh i don't like pirate ships at all so I wouldn't be that sad , but really if they close blade they need a new flat, as alton towers are really lacking

I quite like pirate ship rides but the Blade is too short and not that forceful. They ought to get one like Drayton's- now that's what i call forceful! I agree with you that Towers is lacking flats; they really are.

they need something like maelstrom in gloomy wood or on ripsaws site, but maybe dig a pit to build it. Gotta say drayton manor has some of the best flats in the UK

While they do indeed have some good flats, I suspect the "best flats in the UK" status is only because the rest of the country's parks have so little to offer in that department.

the uk as whole is lacking flats tbh but i think drayton manor has some of the best flats in the country

SW8 was originally supposed to be a wooden coaster in Forbidden Valley. It would be interesting if those plans were brought back for a similar ride when SW9 comes around. Maybe an RMC.

Rush, Ripsaw and samurai back in the day, apocalypse and maelstrom were the best in parks. Sky force is my favourite, would love to see something similar at towers but from what I gather it's not too popular

They have tried other things in Forbidden Valley since 2002, they just haven't worked out particularly well. My favourite era was Nemesis/Air/Ripsaw/Blade/Dynamo.

N:ST brought some life back to the area, but perhaps the less said about that the better.

In terms of the future, I don't expect any huge changes in the next few years. I suspect rumours of Galactica's demise are exaggerated.

I'd love the park to spend some money on getting Sub Terra operational and also improving the experience too. I felt it was reliant on actors too much when it opened which obviously isn't very cost effective. The ride section for me was plenty good enough. Just feel they could improve the pre-show a lot and make it longer and more immersive. Then that whole mini maze section at the end wouldn't be needed.

Other than that.......Go and get Ripsaw 2.0. Those newer models are still being installed today and give a better ride experience too so they say. IMG Dubai got one recently I believe.

What we'll get is something very different and underwhelming no doubt.....most likely nothing.

NST will probably be dismantled and the building used for Scarefest, or quietly demolished and they'll pretend it never happened.

I think it's safe to say unless it's a family IP flat ride then it's safe to say Merlin won't be adding any more flat rides in any of the parks. They may as well rename Alton Towers Coaster towers with the ratio of rides/coasters added over the last 10 years.

Coasters:
  • Thirteen
  • The Smiler
  • Octonauts
  • Wicker Man
Non-coasters:
  • Battle Galleons
  • Heave Ho
  • Sharkbait Reef
  • Nemesis: Sub-Terra
  • Ice Age 4D
  • Postman Pat
  • Go Jetters
  • Other ride re-themes and show based attractions
Just saying! ;)

Forbidden Valley is a pretty solid area really, if they could do something with Sub-Terra then it's fine. However I do not expect Sub-Terra to ever re-open now, it really was a total disaster.

:)

I see no reason why they could not build a big coaster in FV for SW9 as this was the original plan for SW8 prior to the smiler incident and associated drop in gate numbers.

Depends on the extent of Merlin's cuts to the RTP Capex budget.

We probably won't get a FV Woody now, but a B and M (first choice) or a Mack (second choice) would be great.

I think a family friendly compromise along the lines of Arthur, but cheaper is more likely.

Fv in my opinion should be their thrill capital. Why they didn’t just replace ripsaw with a new model is beyond me- it fitted perfectly

I nice roaring Mack launch coaster would be good. We know they have the room as the original sw8 was fairly large and fitted in
