Isn't Boring Corner an area of the park? :p

Back in the 80s and 90s when me and my chums were riding coasters, we'd refer to boring corners as a Tea and Tarts Corner. The idea being that the coaster was so sedate at that point, you could probably serve high tea while you were waiting for the next exciting bit.

Examples were; that turn after the double corkscrews on AT's Corkscrew before the next drop, the turnaround on The Big One, the turns on Grand National, etc.
When we traversed them we'd shout 'More tea, vicar?' (It was hilarious to us).

I look forward to bringing back this tradition on Wicker Man when I ride it.

'Boring corner' has already really won me over to be honest, even if I'm almost certain that it was one of the elements that J Wardley wanted reprofiling. It's just not an element you see much these days, and there's something almost winningly old school about it.

On an unrelated note, RCDB now states that Wicker Man reaches a top speed of 44mph. Has this been confirmed, or is it just a statistic that someone plucked out of thin air?

Anyway, nice to see that they have made an effort and spruced up parts of Mutiny Bay, even though the area hasn't been fully rethemed.

In the Q&A I am sure they said the manufacturer gave them that top speed but they believe it will be a bit faster

ETA - also could the film IP they considered using be Guardians of the Galaxy with Groot being where Big Bob is now?

I can't help but wonder if this is some sort of prop for the press launch on Friday, rather than something staying there permanently...?

Anybody know when we can expect to start seeing the TV advert?

I'd say during Ant and Dec or The Voice on Saturday night

EDIT:

Oh.. If you want another POV - mine is here -

I like how everyone advertises their videos as "exclusive on ride footage" when it's exactly the same camera set up that every YouTuber, fan site, and media outlet have been using.

"Exclusive" ;)
Maybe they were all told to do that? ;)

Definition of Exclusive - "restricted to the person, group, or area concerned." (Source )

This footage was exclusive to the group that attended that day. ;)
