Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Don't recall any of GCIs having continuous issues.

Ended up opening bang on 10am and now has an 80 minute queue.
I was speaking to some rollercoaster enthusiasts at Blackpool Pleasure Beach the other week, the day before they had been to Alton Towers and said Wickerman was closed quite often during the day.

When I told them it was a regular thing rather than it being an off day they were completely shocked as they said they have never known a GCI have so many issues, which is something I thought was the case myself before they confirmed it.

It makes me sad really. This is an Awesome coaster and it's really not opened its account well at all in the eyes of the GP with it always being down or "broken" for people to fall in love with a coaster they have to actually be able to ride it :(

Don't forget also the effects, its feels like a completely different ride to when I went on it in the dark with the Wicker man bursting into flames...To be honest it made great viewing whilst in the queue line.

It really ratchets up your excitement queuing up for the ride. Yes the flames will be awesome I don't think I've ever seen the flame effect.

Had my first ever ride yesterday (back row) and was suitably impressed with the ride. It’d be nice to go back and get a few rerides in different rows.

One thing to note from the queue line was you would have thought they’d have sanded off the serial numbers from the wood they used for the fencing.

Does anyone know why the flame effects aren't working again? I understand there were technical issues before, but I thought they were all resolved now...

They were running again for a short period, but issues cropped up again so they've been disabled since. Shame really :(

On the plus side the smoke is now running better than ever on the turn from out the station to the lifthill and looks great! The notable improvement in operations really shows too now, just need to get the random bouts of downtime under control now.

Unfortunately all the rides have their random bouts of downtime probably due to procedures so I doubt that situation will change.
