Towers/BPB trip 17/8/18

Me and my better half have what will hopefully be a fun packed weekend ahead of us next week.

Manchester flight leaves Belfast on Friday at 07:10. We hire a car and all going well we'll arrive at Towers between 10:30 and 11:00 am. This has worked for us in previous years so hopefully no flight delays or problems.

We've paid for unlimited queue jumping for both Friday and Saturday. Yes it's a lot of money but we only get to go once a year and like to get as many rides in as we can without having to rush around the place. Can't wait to ride wickerman for the first time !

We're staying at the chained oak B&B on Friday and Saturday nights. We've stayed there before and after making the mistake of booking Splash Landings last year we thought we'd go back as it's quiet and very relaxing after a day on park.

Previous visits we've ate at the Alton Bridge hotel in the evening but fancy a change this year. Anyone know of a good Chinese restaurant in Uttoxeter?

On Sunday morning we're heading off around 7am to BPB and should be there for park opening. Again we're paying to queue jump all day (except for icon as you only get to fastrack once). We've never been to BPB before and I'm looking forward to it. Any tips?

Flight home from Manchester to Belfast is at 20:00 so we're planning to leave BPB at around 16:00.

It's going to be a busy weekend.

Have a wonderful trip. BPB hasn't been tremendously busy of late, but for a one off I don't blame you for getting Speedy Pass.

I think with Ultimate Fastrack and unlimited Speedy Pass you're not needing a ton of tips, you'll be able to take it easy and enjoy the day. Have fun!

Just completed a fantastic two days at AT.

Wickerman. Well all I can say is wow! Mutiple rides done over the two days including front and back rows. Back row is fantastic, especially toward the end of the day. I've never been on a coaster before that generates more laughs than screams. My favourite ride at Towers now.

We lost count of how many rides we did around the entire park but my wife's Fitbit registered just over 10 miles of walking today alone.

Operations were fantastic with no notable breakdowns, everything we went to get on, we got on. Fastrack, it cost us near £400 in that alone - £96 per person per day for platinum. Well we got our money's worth and as we only get to visit once a year we save for the trip so it's not a big hit in the pocket at once.

All in all a fantastic two days. We're both wrecked and still have BPB to do tomorrow before we fly home.

Glad you had a nice time; Wicker Man is just awesome, isn't it?

Have a nice time at BPB tomorrow; enjoy Icon!

Thanks.

I was surprised at how good wickerman was. Certainly wasn't expecting it to be so good. The difference in speed in the evenings compared to early morning is crazy too. I was laughing like a madman every ride.
Mate this is why I love it so much. I too get the giggles the whole way round... It's not the best coaster in the world it's just *really* fun.

Well as most of you know Icon was closed so that put a huge dampener on Sunday but that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

We didn't like BPB at all and we'll not be back. Didn't think much of anything there and it's not worth us traveling again for Icon alone no matter how good it may be. I understand it is a different style of park than the norm but it's just not my thing.

Silly things like a ride host drop kicking a lucozade bottle over the track in a batching area. On another ride I overheard hosts talking about people that they'd just loaded onto a train and having a good laugh at their expense. Not professional at all and we weren't impressed.
