Completely, it’s like that silly no re-ride policy at Towers because the rides are “that intense” you need to walk the queue line yet at Thorpe you can stay on ride.In my experience towers are a lot more strict than Thorpe.

With re-rides I find it depends who’s on ops. The new ones this year tend to stick to the rule book. But the guys that have been opping a while don’t give a monkeys. Only managed to get Nemmy re-rides once this year

Isn't the no reride policy done in order to keep the queue moving, especially on a busy day?Completely, it’s like that silly no re-ride policy at Towers because the rides are “that intense” you need to walk the queue line yet at Thorpe you can stay on ride.

I presume we're talking about instances in which there is not a full train/car's worth of guests waiting at the gates, rather than people demanding another go around!

Ah OK. Thanks for the clarification @Plastic Person!I presume we're talking about instances in which there is not a full train/car's worth of guests waiting at the gates, rather than people demanding another go around!
It’s all about who you know, the other Friday I did swarm 12 times between 10 and 11am.With re-rides I find it depends who’s on ops. The new ones this year tend to stick to the rule book. Out of interest, would you guys say that Wicker Man has sped up since opening? Only asking because it seemed to feel faster yesterday than it did in March.
Wooden coasters tend to speed up through their first season.

You know that Melin also owns Heide Park? Well, Colossos is getting a new logo, and guess where they got the inspiration from...
For comparison, here's WM's logo:

Least they didn't name it after two alton rides, and then have a modernised logo that they put on tags in the wrong shop. However there is also "colossus" at Thorpe Park.

For all Merlin’s faults I wouldn’t say the issue of using similar themes/concepts is particularly a bad one.
The number of guests that would visit both Heide Park and Alton Towers would be tiny, and most of those would probably be enthusiasts so I doubt regular guests would even know this is the case.
Tussauds built a B&M Invert with the same name as their existing one back in 2003, and opened two coasters of exactly the same model in 2004, at least Merlin aren’t doing this stuff within the UK parks.
