hello,

we're visiting at on the 28th august and travelling up from gloucestershire in the morning. does anyone have any suggestions about the most efficient way to do the big seven, congo and hex, as well as any general tips for the park?

I'd personally recommend doing Wicker Man early, as that's when the queue should be shortest. Then maybe you could do the rides in FV, as they are furthest from the entrance? I'm really not too sure, the only one I can really give you is do Wicker Man and the rides on that side early. Then I'd say just do whatever you like from there, really!

Avoid all advice that tells you to do Wicker Man first; leave it until last. Everyone heads straight there first thing, so use this as an advantage.

It'd be best to grab Smiler and Oblivion first, then straight over to Rita and Thirteen. Skyride across to FV and get Nemesis and Galactica done. Hex can be done at any point of the day. Keep checking the queue times for the Rapids, they really do tend to vary and plus the weather will have an inevitable impact.

Oh... take @Danny's advice instead of mine. A much better and more comprehensive plan, if you ask me!

alright, that sounds good @Danny

what time do most people go for lunch? ideally we'd want to have ours early or late so that we avoid the rush and get a few more rides in.

Any time between 12pm and 3pm really. Although depending on how well staffed they are, I’ve seen outlets with huge queues at 4pm ish due to only having 1 staff member on. Depending on what you like to eat, might be best to take your own food. I always do these days, and not to save money necessarily, but because the food offering is quite poor.

It's very last minute, but if you can, do Monday 27th. Bank holidays are usually much, much quieter than the following day, as everyone has the same idea!

I'd have to agree on Wicker Man - if anything, queues seem to be longer at the start of the day so I'd leave it until later. Personally, I'd go for the Smiler and Rita first as those queues seem to get longer as the day goes on. Good luck with getting the big seven in without fastrack!

@Burbs yeah, we'll do that. i personally don't mind the offering, but it's more like being overpriced for me. i digress, though.

@Plastic Person if we did, i think the park would be having an 'it's better than nothing' repeat

@discoinferno it's unlikely that we'll do all that we want to do, but looking at the queue times recently they've been relatively decent, even if they aren't that reliable. thanks for the luck!

I would get in as early as possible and leave after ride close times.

If you can get ERT, get there before the queues build up for ERT and get in first. Then do Wicker man first (if you miss the Wickerman for ERT, then do this later), forget re-rides, just go around the park and do all the big roller coasters the once before lunch and then go and enjoy the rest of the park. The park tends to quieten down again towards the end of the day, so plenty of time to get re-rides in before closing.

However, this week should be the busiest week of the summer holidays with today being bank holiday. Saying that, I've always manage to do all the rides on the Firework weekends which is supposed to be the busiest days of the season. However, this seasons bad ride operations has inflated the queue times and will make getting on everything more trickier.

Forget eating or drinking at the resort outlets or restaurants, bring your own pack lunch and you can eat it in the queue lines.
