Hersheypark: General Discussion

*blows the dust of the topic bumping stick*

Just spotted a rather flooded Hersheypark and Knoebels on the RCCGB! o.o

It's not an uncommon occurrence - that area of America is very flood prone. Hopefully the parks should re-open soon.

It appears that Hersheypark are looking at an expansion on to the land sitauated behind Skyrush, land that was previously used as a golf course. It is thought that they could be getting a new coaster in 2020, and they have been given FAA approval for a new coaster with a height of 220 feet.

And here is a look at the land where they are looking to expand on to (from Screamscape):

:)

Raging Bull is fine, it's just the worst of the B&M Hypers that I have done with very little airtime. The turnarounds also offer little force.

Pretty sure Hershey will not be getting anything like Raging Bull though as B&M have moved away from those layouts.

Ah OK. Thanks @Rob!

Thankfully for you, I think Raging Bull was a one time experiment on B&M's part.

Sorry for double posting and bumping the thread, but Hersheypark is thought to be announcing their rumoured B&M hyper on 3rd October!

Here's a look at the invite:

A new entrance plaza and B&M Hyper would be very exciting!

:)

Hersheypark have announced a brand new entrance area opening in 2020: Chocolatetown.

It will feature a new entrance plaza and turnstiles, new dining options, a new flagship shop and a new coaster!

Details of the new coaster are limited, however it is a B&M Hyper Coaster and will be the tallest, fastest and longest coaster at the park.

More information can be seen here.

I'm looking forward to seeing more details of the coaster. And interested to see what they do with the existing park entrance once this is complete as it is one of the more charming areas of the park.

:)

Hersheypark have announced their new B&M Hyper Coaster which is going to be called Candymonium! That has to be one of the best coaster names of all time!

Here are some stats:
  • Length - 4636 ft
  • Height - 210 ft
  • Top speed - 76mph
  • 7 airtime hills
Here is a video showing it all off where the physics of the ride look completely off:

And a couple of renderings:

Looks fantastic! B&M hypers always provide a good ride experience, and this one should be no exception!

On a side note, am I the only one who likes this investment, as the resounding internet tone seems to be disappointment?

I suppose in the age on RMCs, Intamin multi-launches and Mack Megas, the good old reliable B&M Hyper coaster just does not generate the excitement that it once did.

I personally do think that it is a good addition to Hersheypark.

Hersheypark is based in a region where the bar has been raised very high. There are a few existing B&M Hypers, as well as Steel Vengeance, Dragster, El Toro etc all within a few hours drive.

If a UK park announced this we would be absolutely buzzing I'm sure.
