Drayton Manor Park

I won't comment on this specific thing because I do not have the full facts, but I will say that the more I learn about Drayton Manor and what its future holds, and this is a very sad thing to say and admit, the more I feel I'm losing steam of my passion for theme parks which has really got ignited over the last year and a half. It's not looking good for Maelstrom either from what I hear. @DistortAMG You called it before, the park are entering a real crisis because of what happened last year. It really is gutting. I genuinely think the UK theme park industry is dead.

And also the possibility of Buffalo being removed, the future is looking very leak for the thrill side of Drayton Manor. A real shame, I thought it was a nice park when I visited in 2014

I've been far too optimistic when it comes to Drayton and sadly reality has hit me quite hard, and it's sad because I've defended a lot of the decisions made over the past year. Not just the thrill side; families with kids older than 6. With Pirate Adventure and Excalibur gone, Buffalo, Big Wheel and Chairlift it's becoming less attractive with families.
They cannot remove Maelstrom though. The ride is one of the beating hearts of the park. With Merlin doing things 'the merlin way', Drayton has been the only thing making me optimistic for theme parks in this country. With that gone, what is there to look forward to?
Interested to see what DMP find for the G-Spot next.
Please never say that again :)

I hope this isn't true, apart from the fact I actually enjoy G Force (awaits angry comments) it'd be a huge shame for Drayton to lose a major coaster as they are already fairly thin in terms of their overall lineup.

I have my own special sourcy sauce that I like to cover myself in while watching Bruce's price is right on repeat.

I find it hard to believe G-Force is going due to a spare part issue to be honest, there are plenty of X-cars in operation around the world and 9 times out of 10, a third party company could usually step up to make spare parts if originals were not available. Maurer did have a restructuring effort a few years ago though but I do not think that would have much of an impact on spare parts.

However I am open to being proven wrong.

Is it possible the spare parts have just gone up in price where it doesn't make financial sense?

That is a possibility yes. Certainly would not rule it out. G-force was always a bad choice for Drayton from the start. I think they realised that themselves not long after the thing was put where it was. Klondike Gold mine (the ride it replaced) was far more thrilling than this to be honest. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Looks like the rumour is true:

RIP G Force 2005-2018

Its a shame but only because there’s not much chance of anything exciting replacing it. But it is/was a bit crap.

I’ve only been on it a handful of times but that lift hill is not a nice experience and after than not much to write about really. The station building is ugly inside and out too.

Maybe they will lease purchase something like a zamperla coaster?
