Six Flags Quiddiya in Saudi Arabia (future new park) have announced Falcon's Flight, the world's fastest, tallest and longest roller coaster!

The first stat released is the top speed, 156 mph.

Video:

Looks absolutely insane!

Apparently there's a real risk of losing a limb on the ride...... nothing to do with nearby objects and the terrain though just over zealous Saudi officials ;)

But back in the real world for a second not only will this coaster never see the light of day....neither will the park. As if Six Flags are going to build a theme Park in a country that nobody in the world would want to visit. You couldn't pay me enough money to visit Saudi Arabia. It's a stain on the world. Terrorist supporting, human rights abusing, homophobic endorsing and much more too. No thanks. Not now, not ever.

London Paramount has more legs than this. Hahaha

...That's if it becomes reality. ;)

Oh wow; this coaster will be obscene when it opens! Hopefully it might be the spark that starts an inferno of theme park development in Saudi Arabia!

As for a manufacturer, I'm going to guess Intamin based on the track in the video.

Do people even go to Saudi Arabia? Since Six Flags Dubai failed I can't see a park in Saudi Arabia being viable

Would you go?

They stone people to death still. Remove limbs from people. Gay people must have to keep themselves very cut off from society. Women treated like 2nd class citizens. Human rights abuse is everywhere.

I wouldn't go if you paid for my trip to this park that will never get built.

Sorry for the double post.

No I wouldn't go to Saudi Arabia. I can't claim to have moral superiority having visited China (and I'd go again), but Saudi Arabia doesn't appeal to me at all. They do to me seem to be a step worse than other questionable countries (UAE, Russia, China etc).

Doesn't mean those comments are correct though! @Matt N is known to be an optimist :)

Oh that he is.

However I just don't see Six Flags opening a park in Saudi Arabia. The media backlash they'd get would be awful. The country is quite frankly the armpit of the whole world. It's a disgrace what goes on there.

This all looks more unlikely than London Paramount. And that coaster.......well let's say I don't think so.

Also.....17 of the 911 hijackers were Saudi Nationals. Now a huge US entertainment firm is supposedly going to build a theme park there with a huge drop tower.....

Yeah seems legit......

The perception of Saudi Arabia is the US is just about as bad as anywhere in the world.

*screams*

The levels of ignorance in this thread have reached new heights.
  • The park is financed (not seeking finance) by the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Saudi Arabia, with assets of $300 BILLION
  • Qiddiya as a whole is already being built, this is a tiny part of it
  • The key purpose of Qiddiya is to provide a domestic destination for the 8 million residents of Riyadh - less than an hour from the site (SA total population is 30+ million)
  • It might seem incomprehensible, but the Saudis are not trying to attract coaster enthusiasts to their country to boost their track records
  • This is not a Porta-Kabin next to the River Thames containing a Frenchman twiddling his thumbs
  • Six Flags aren't building the park, they're licensing their brand and assets
  • Saudis drink Coca Cola, fly Boeing planes, stay overnight in Holiday Inns, they call each other on iPhones - why couldn't they go to a Six Flags park?
  • (they fly fighter jets built in Lancashire, too)
  • And just when you think it can't get any worse @Benjsh brings up 9/11
I'm not defending Saudi Arabia or that coaster rendering, just facts.
