Use
I have the queue time site up daily, but I'm not obsessed with it, I just use it as a tool to gauge what the current crowds trends are doing and what part of the day certain rides are quiet and peak with regards to queue times, which is helpful for when I visit to maximise my day.

I'll be on park next week and it's going to be busy, at the moment without having the ride times up, I've got no idea what to expect on my next visit, therefor I will have to plan my day blind.

I do have a good life away from the ride time website, I'm not chained to it
Use the Alton towers app

I’m sure a lot of folk would tell you to get a life for being an enthusiast so it’s abit rich to call someone out for wanting to check ride times.

Sorry Craig, what I meant was who cares if someone wants to view ride times. I should’ve left out the F word. My bad.

Can we all just calm it a bit in here please? I'm sure you're all capable of putting opposing views across without resorting to sounding so aggressive /swearing. Thanks.

I think the trivial matter of Brexit has shown that we as a country are pretty useless at dealing with opposing points of view.

So when it comes to much more important matters such as ride queue times, we've got no chance...:tearsofjoy:

@RoyJess its not the use of the site thats the problem (using that word loosely as each to their own and all that) - what you use it for is probably what it’s designed for.

My point was made that there does seem to be a wave of ‘enthusiasts’ who seem (judging by their own posts) to rarely go to parks or never go to parks that make comments about the ride times site rather frequently. In short - following ride time’s doesn’t make you an enthusiast in my view.

And @Matt878787 - really?

There's no way they had either 25k during fireworks or 34k the week before, I'd be immensely surprised if they've gone over 30k in years (especially with the amount of parking they've lost to the village & sheds). I believe that peak scarefest crowds exceed the fireworks attendance though - the ticket allocation is lower to keep things manageable. I don't think they actually sell out either, they just don't want to sell any on the day to avoid the risk of travelling and then being turned away if the remaining tickets sell out.

I heard that the operations weren't very good yesterday. Is this to do with the cold weather or just general break downs?

More likely to do with the heavy rain fall, from what I've been told, Oblivion electrics/sensors play havoc when it rains heavy and I presume the same would be with some of the other rides.

Oblivion was down for most of the morning during my last visit due to heavy rain fall the night before, and I kept joking that they had to de-flood the tunnel

ok. Also with it being even colder today, what temperatures can the coasters operate in? I know thirteen is 5c but not sure on any of the others.

As far as I'm aware, it's just Thirteen.

According to the Met office, the temps will drop this evening, so get a ride on Thirteen before dark. Looks like the temps are going to remain above this for tomorrow and Wednesday, but remember the weather forecast is a forecast not a promise, as well as this is a Merlin attraction, they will use anything as an excuse to close their rides to save money
