With Nemesis, The big one and Shockwave been 25 years old now which of the 3 will be removed 1st?

It’s hard to say as it’s really at Drayton and Blackpool it’s still there headline coaster. Nemesis on the other hand is a favourite for the regular theme park fans and we see how it really put Alton Towers on the map and started off the SW brand but the normal GP maybe now see the Wicker-man and the Smiler as the parks headline coasters with the queues been the longest for most of the days where Nemesis queue is usually 15 mins or less on normal opening hours.
With the loss of G-Force it’s the only coaster left for the over 1.1m height and like Nemesis on quiet days it’s been opening later and there had to send half empty trains. The red train in pieces at the back of the pirate adventure building. They also know that if they removed it they wouldn’t be able to build another big coaster in its place as how close the next village is to the park for noise.
Blackpool I not been for 10 years next year but from watching vlogs and reading forums it still gets the biggest queue in the park and many say it’s just a 1 trick pony but fans keep wanting to ride it.
So what do others say on here?

100% Shockwave, barring some major structural problems with PMBO (fingers crossed!).

My money's on Shockwave, but that's because I can't foresee Drayton lasting the next few years in its current state (legal issues notwithstanding).

As much as I was surprised by Shockwave when I rode it, I'm afraid I'm going to have to vote for it as my personal guess as well. Drayton Manor seems to be struggling somewhat currently, and it seems to be becoming more of a family theme park, so it wouldn't surprise me if they removed Shockwave in order to replace it with a new family investment or something.

The Big One is incredibly iconic to BPB and still extremely popular, and provided that it doesn't have any sort of major structural problem, I can't see it getting removed any time soon.

Even though I don't think Nemesis has quite the same level of overall appeal as some of Alton Towers' other rides these days, I still think the park holds it in very high regard, so I don't see it getting removed any time soon.

Voted Shockwave but given how badly Big One has aged, plus some moronic management decisions, and the fact that Wild Mouse was removed overnight it wouldn't suprise me if that was first to go.

Shockwave won't be removed. Closed yes, but not removed. Look at G Force.

In 100 years time, The Big One will have toppled over. Nemesis will have rotted away with lack of maintenance. Shockwave will be a rusted mess in the heart of a long abandoned Drayton Manor, but that wretched thing will still be standing.

I can only see Big One going if it goes with the rest of the park. The ride is still such a draw that it would be suicidal to remove it.

That leaves Shockwave and Nem and given DMP’s current financials and focus on families it feels like that’s where the axe is more likely to fall.

Never count Merlin out though.

I think it all
Depends on the future of Splash Canyon like if the park just got a fine and a list of things to do to bring it back to H&S law then I can see Shockwave becoming the oldest coaster in the park.

Big One won’t be going anywhere for a long long time. It’s the biggest draw in the park and probably still the most well known coaster in the UK amongst non enthusiasts (besides maybe the smiler). It’ll be retracked in a few years and won’t go till PB goes.

I can’t see AT getting rid of Nemesis till it becomes a complete maintenance nightmare. I’m not sure how much of an option simply retracking it is, obviously they did hulk but you’d probably be more worried about the foundations corroding away on Nemesis than anything else. I don’t want to think about losing it in all honesty

Unfortunately I think not only Shockwave but Drayton as a park will go before either of the other 2 do. It’s not nice but it could well be reality sooner rather than later.

The inquest for Eva's death is not sounding at all good. Lack of cameras, lack of water rescue equipment and lack of trained staff. Could see Drayton not surviving the fine they will get from this sadly. should have tried to get a last Shockwave ride last season...

It's looking that way sadly. A real shame..

G Force is getting removed this closed season.

I voted Shockwave. It is not the type of ride the park are all about these days.

I’d echo what everyone is saying about PMBO being the least likely to be removed and I’d agree that Shockwave is the most likely.

That said, I don’t think it’s likely that DMP in general will close. It’s been in business for nearly 70 years and whilst the park seemed to be having a lot of problems... even before the Rapids incident... the hotel, Thomas Land and Christmas events seem to be propping the park up. It’s more than likely that they’ll altogether move away from thrill rides and become an entirely family focussed park and zoo with possibly some farmyard type installations added. This is clearly what works for them.

Over the years, Shockwave has become quieter and quieter, it’s more than likely we’ll actually see that whole section of the park closed off in the coming years. It’s become a total dead zone.

I would still suggest the demise of G-Force has made the demise of Shockwave far less likely.

I thought I bring back a old topic I started in 2019.
With the Coasters been 27 years old now and Drayton been brought by the looping group I thought I see if people’s views have changed.

Nemesis still as good as ever and it may not be the main draw to the park anymore but to me it’s the best coaster in the uk hands down and in my top 3 in the world. The track and station building was repaired and painted for future guests to enjoy.

Blackpool I not been since 2010 so can’t say if the Big One is the main pull at the park anymore but they keep replacing the track every closed season.

Shockwave I thought was on the chopping block but the new owners have really pulled it out the bag and when the Rapids reopen with the new wave swinger, Kids play ground and all the theming it could be the best themed area in the uk this year ( I class Tornado Springs as last year)

I can’t see Shockwave being removed for a good while now after all the investment the Looping Group has put in. I think all 3 of the 1994 coasters have their futures secured for another good few years.
