Theme Park Worldwide

There’s vlogs out there that last 15 to 30 mins max but his last 45 mins to 90 mins. I’m lucky if I get to watch a 30 min you tube video with work, home and kids.
I met Alex when he worked the aerial park area of Drayton Manor and get on well with him. Doesn’t Shawn do his dj business with Alex?

I wonder if Shawn vlogged the unfortunate flooding incident at Meadowhall last night. He wouldn't have had to go far to find a water feature.

Noticed a few things on Twitter today regarding AT asking people to take their fireworks videos down until the displays finish tonight (and rightly so). One particular user says Shawn was asked to take the video down however refused to comply. Thought he was a nice, humble guy? This just stinks of self entitlement.

The particular person who was asked to take the video down by a member of AT was told by them that Shawn refused to take the video down.

Alton Towers is a public venue and there are no rules against filming and posting the videos.

"Refused to comply"; was he visited by Robocop?

Does it really "stink of self-entitlement" that Sanbrooke would "refuse to comply" with the world's second most-powerful leisure operator, who he provides literally hours and hours of free publicity to every year?

Can't believe I feel compelled to defend a vlogger, but there are lots of chips on lots of shoulders throughout this thread.

Still second hand which as we know form Chinese whispers can go wrong.

For people like me the videos are great as I can’t go. For people who don’t want to be spoiled, don’t watch the video. Simples. The title says what it is.

No there are no rules, but Towers specifically asked for the videos to be taken down so it wouldn't spoil the display for others. Would it seriously kill him to take the video down and then repost it on Monday?

There are no chips on shoulders from me at all. As I've previously said I don't really have an issue with Shawn, but in this instance I think the least he could do is remove his video for a couple of days.

Another one defending Lord Sanbrooke.

It’s people like you who give him that sense of self-entitlement.

It’s even worse when you see that individuals call him “actual theme park royalty”.

Stop putting him on a pedestal for goodness sake.

Just because I like Shawn doesn’t mean I think he is God but then again you already know this just trying to hook people.

That's not true. It's on private property so actually there are rules. Since the footage is uploaded to YouTube you could say it's for commercial use and is subject to stricter conditions than private use (which they do allow).

Not trying to hook anyone, simply expressing my opinion - which is what forums are for.

Find it hilarious how Shawn can do no wrong in so many peoples eyes.

I wonder if Merlin will take a heavy handed approach in future, after all they can demand footage be deleted or even enforce the privacy clause.

By accepting these Entry Conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph and/or capture video footage of any individual without that person’s permission

He does things wrong just like everyone else. Some people have the converse reaction, Shawn can do no right.

I've know Shawn for many years and he is a good lad, he is a friend of mine, so for that reason I don't like it when I hear people say negative things about him.

The bottom line is, Shawn is not the only person that has video'd and posted firework displayed on social media.

If Alton don't want the fireworks display video, then they need to make that clear at the start of the show.

If they have asked Shawn to remove his video, then they also have to ask every single person that has posted a video of the fireworks on social media to remove them. Otherwise in law, this goes against the equal rights and Shaw could say that his has been targeted if he is singled out allowing other people to be able to film and post the fireworks.

If you don't want spoilers, then don't watch the video, I myself avoided the reviews on this site when it came to the scare mazes until I actually done them.

It’s amazing how as the number of subscribers goes up for both his channels, so does the number of mainly baseless complaints goes up. If I didn’t know better I would say jealousy. But surely that can’t be the reason. I bet he is just the same person off camera as on isn’t he?
