What changes to operations should we expect post Covid-19?

I did think that - it would make more sense to leave alternate rows empty. Most people will be visiting with other people from their household and they're allowed to be together. Maybe it's a local regulation imposed by the authorities?
I'm thinking local management (as it seems the European merlin parks have more localized control) may have taken the "2 meters apart from others" a bit literally.

Apparently Boris wants to reduce the 2m rule down to 1m ASAP so that pubs and schools can operate more effectively. I’d assume that this will help Towers?

Besides, with regard to the North West’s R number, that was only one study out of many where it was above 1; the government themselves cite the range as being between 0.7 and 0.9. Besides, it’s the numbers of cases we need to be looking at, which are ever decreasing; provided the NHS isn’t at risk of being overwhelmed, nothing will happen in terms of lockdown.
Well Boris needs to remember he was one of the lucky ones! Others might not be as lucky. The 2m rules needs to be with us a little longer. The only reason this gets media coverage is because the pub chains and restaurant chains are applying pressure via the daily mail etc! There is still too many cases and deaths to change this yet. You also need to remember most people aren't 2 m apart mostly 1 to 1.5 m I would say from observations in public. Change it to 1m and people will be 0.5 m or closer realistically. Guys we are still not over this by any means and it is already being calculated that a second wave might hit by September so reckless change and behaviour could make it even worse! !!

Other countries with 1m distancing have eased measures for a while now, some to a greater extent than Britain currently has, and haven’t seen a second wave, though, so I don’t think it’s a guarantee by any means that we will see a second wave.

Apparently, we are at roughly the same stage on the curve as Italy was when they reopened similar things & eased similar restrictions, and they never had a second wave. Note that Italy was also another highly-affected country in terms of case numbers & deaths.

Today's BBC The One show talks about theme parks during lock down, it starts off showing how they are operating in an international themepark (5.54 into the program), but there is also a behind the scenes report from Alton Towers around 6.20 into the program

Thanks for the heads up Roy, was cool to watch. RNLI feature was interesting too. :)

Legoland Billund have now dropped the requirement to pre-book tickets for weekdays for the next few weeks:

I guess this suggests that there weren't the numbers pre-booking to risk selling out...

Well I saw Mandy on the news yesterday and she announced that some attractions mainly indoors will be closed due to Covid regs what have Merlin announced what they will close across their estate? Surely they will have to look at their indoor attractions eg DBGT ( could be a good excuse to save on running budget too!)

People here talking about on site bars, entertainment, restaurants etc. As far as I know three is no exception to these being open just because they are at a theme park. They are currently prohibited everywhere. I'd expect away (to room) sales only, unless anyone has seen different anywhere?

I'm sure by the time the theme parks open, hospitality such as restaurants and bars will also be allowed to open.

I don't think so. Theme parks have a provisional date, licenced premises and restaurants do not. A very different business.

You’ll like to think that ............ I Have no idea what’s going to happen after the 4th July. Obviously it don’t affect us here in wales but a lot of places have jumped the gun to try and force a concrete date from the government.

I'm not sure theme parks do have a provisional date though. Unless I missed an official announcement, I thought that the Prime Minister announced hospitality (bars, restaurants) from July 4th at the earliest and the theme park operators have assumed that's when they'll be opening too. I don't recall an official date for theme parks being set by the government.

No date have been set or given they said they will review it after the 4th July or just before. So no one in the leisure business actually knows when they can actually reopen.
