Has anyone any idea what allocation of tickets Towers set aside for The Sun offer? I've just gone to book online and there is not a single date with tickets available for the remainder of the 2020 season. (Yes, I know I should have been online last Friday to book... but work and all that!)
I booked on Tuesday but there were no weekends left. Just a couple of Thursdays and Fridays in September.

Edit: will they do a Thorpe one or have I missed this? Legoland is on there at the moment but cba to go there.

Not sure if this is much changed from the announcement a couple of months back but there has been another Email from Merlin today clarifying amongst other things the Annual Pass extension. With regards to the pass extension it is confirmed as being 5 months if your pass was purchased before the 19th of March:

Passes Purchased before 19th of March 2020
"We know you have already missed making magic Merlin memories. To account for the time we have been closed, as well as to acknowledge the new pre-book process, we will be adding a 5-month extension onto all original expiry dates for Merlin Annual Passes that expire after 18th March 2020 (for passes purchased before 19th of March 2020).

Merlin Annual Passes that expired before 19th March 2020 or purchased after 31st May 2020 and passes bought within the Summer Sale period will not be entitled to the extension period."

Not a bad extension really but that's the least they could do as it's actually hard to get into somewhere like Towers on a weekend now unless you plan a few weeks ahead and of course pay an extra £1 for the privilege. It's not ideal and I would definitely have preferred a normal season and no extension of pass but I find it acceptable given the circumstances.

Are coasters being run on all trains out of interest? You would hope so with social distancing reducing throughputs, but just wondered - especially on the likes of 13 where they are having to have dummies loaded.

I waited around 15 mins at 10.30. Queue seems to have shot up since then. They have water dummies in back three rows and then social distancing a row between groups, so each train is only around 1/3 full.

Galactica currently on 2 trains and 1 station.

So I heard the minimum guest number on the smiler is 8. I've seen a few times 4 groups of 2 being on the train aswell. So if you were a single rider with 3 groups of 2, meaning there's only 7, you wouldn't be allowed on? What would they do in that situation? Just tell you to wait for the next train?

I’m going to Alton tomorrow, any tips on how to plan your day with the restrictions? Reckon smilers a good place to start?
Your best bet is to start at the back of the park (Nemesis, Galactica & Rita) then work your way to the front. You will have to walk further but it is worth it.

Couple of recent updates to the app that might make visits easier.

Mobile food ordering is now available at Woodcutters, Burger Kitchen and Just Chicken.

MAP holders and Premium Season Pass holders can book Dungeons slots via the app.

No smiler is a terrible place to start it'll go straight upto 90 mins so I would start dark forest
For my visit next friday, i was thinking something like this, maybe along the lines of Rita>Thirteen>Galactica>Nemesis and potentially get four of them out of the way with relevant ease.

EDIT: Does anyone know if Dark Forest is one way? As in maybe enter by Rita and exit by Thirteen?

I don’t think Dark Forest feasibly could be one-way, as I think there’s only one entrance to the area, correct me if I’m wrong?

Not when I was there
Edit: Matt N's question, the back entrance takes you to the gardens
Where is the back entrance to Dark Forest, out of interest, as I was under the impression that the only entrance to the area was the big arch with the wraiths on either side from Fountain Square, and that past Thirteen/where Ug Swinger used to be was just a huge dead end?

Instead of going through the Towers arch towards Hex, turn left past the drink kiosk and you can follow the path round, it brings you out near the entrance to 13 where the UG swinger used to be.

Wow; thanks @AT86! I never knew that path even took you into Dark Forest!

I may well have to consider that as a shortcut to Thirteen next time I visit Towers...

I would do thirteen before rita if I were you. Thirteen seems to get bigger queues at the moment
