Nemesis
I loved my visit today.

The cons - A shoddy, dry, cold burger from Burger Kitchen takeout, & noticing how neglected parts of the park are looking. I’ve never seen it look so bad.

The Oblivion queue line crumbling away in places, The Smiler looks like it needs a full spruce up.
Nemesis looks abandoned and not in a good way. Have they stopped the waterfalls full stop now? The pit was empty and was just a carpet of slime and rogue face masks.

Managed to get afew rides in

Thirteen
Oblivion
Rapids
RMT
Duel
Nemesis
Wickerman
Enterprise
The Smiler

I’ve been a huge Nemesis fan boy for years, but I had the worst ride on it today, and that was on the front row of all places, not pleasant at all :(

The best ride of the day was Wickerman. I bloody love the pacing of it, just a fun ride.

As we were leaving around 6pm we noticed lots of people entering the park and loitering in the plaza, is there some sort of taster event on tonight for staff and family?

I’d have guessed maybe a headbanger? Call me controversial but I think Nemesis is actually the roughest ride at Towers, probably why I really don’t like it all that much

In what way if you don't mind me asking?

I just found it especially rattily, not to the point of head smacking like Saw but I did come off with a headache and didn’t instantly want to re ride like in the past. Maybe I’m just getting old

Wouldn't worry about that, I first rode it when I was 13, thought it was a headbanger then and still do now and I'm 22. :tearsofjoy:

I've never found Nemesis rough and only banged my head once, on my very first ride in 2018. Probably because I'm tall. :p

It was definitely smooth as anything when I first rode it 20 years ago, but back then the only other inverting coaster in the park was The Corkscrew, so it’s was bound to feel butter smooth in comparison.

The fact that it’s almost 27 years old and rides better than the majority of U.K. coasters says a lot though.

Especially when Smiler is only 7 years old but already rough as sandpaper.

See I don't find The Smiler rough at all, a bit jolty in places yes, but I don't think it's rough. I'd much rather The Smiler than Nemesis.
That's interesting. I haven't ridden Smiler yet (was planning to do it this year but Covid had other ideas, will hopefully ride it at Scarefest), front row is still the smoothest right?

On the topic of Nemesis, I have been finding it to be, while not necessarily rough per se, definitely more of a headbanger than it used to be in portions recently. The zero-g roll and the final corkscrew seem quite jolty these days, and some of my recent rides have had me coming off with somewhat sore ears.

Bear in mind, though, that I am perhaps more prone to headbanging than some, as I’m not particularly tall (only about 5’9”).
