Queue lines

I imagine after covid the SRQ for Smiler will return. Not sure about anything else though

I really hope so. I'd like for it to come back for Rita too but who knows. I really don't understand why they got rid of them

Money!

By removing single rider on 13 and Rita you saved on staffing (both of these used to have a merge staff member, which don’t anymore).

I’ve never understood why they didn’t keep them (or add them back) on spinball and oblivion as those don’t require extra staff or any changes to the current queue set up.

I figured that would probably be the case :( sad

Are fast tracks available for spinball and oblivion? Becasue I guess that would explain not bringing them back because it gives an incentive to buy the fast tracks

I think the issue with spinball was the FT queue which was up the exit kept getting so long it was clogging up the exit so they moved it to the old SRQ.

I'm sure we'd all love to see single rider queues on the popular rides such as wicker man and th13teen but doubt that'll happen unfortunately. At least we have it on the smiler which is a very popular ride

Spinball effectively had no exit on busy days, with RAP taking up one side of the path and FT the other. I think simply swapping FT & SRQ would have helped, as if the small exit queue was full that'd be a pretty long wait for SRQ and people just wouldn't wait that long. Unfortunately they took the simple option and removed it entirely - a real shame on wet-weather days when it's 3 per car and most go out with just 2 people on board.

It was rumoured that Spinball's SRQ would return at the same time as the Smiler one did, as it wouldn't have required an extra staff member to manage it, but it never happened.

Rita's and Thirteen's won't come back as they'd need to re-introduce a merge host (£££). Oblivion could (in theory) regain a SRQ without increasing the staffing cost, but with good batching you should never have more than 1 empty seat per shuttle anyway. WM has no space for an SRQ - you don't know group sizes until batching in the station and there's no way to bring single riders in at that stage.

I think a lot of people take SRQs as free fastrack. Yes you won't get on as quick as fastrack but it significantly reduces your wait. I'll admit that waiting 5-10 mins in SRQ for th13teen and the smiler when the main queue is 60-90 mins, its a god send

Quite high on the anorak scale but I find walking through the Nemesis queue really interesting when the extended queue is open.

Its a shame the section before the turnaround underneath the hill is no longer accessible, especially with the view of the loop is a missed photo opportunity these days.

I forgot The Blade’s and before that, the Thundeloopers queue line originally started opposite where the donut stall is now at the top of the red path section. The 2 large entrance stones are still there today - when you know it’s there it looks obvious! I also like old queue lines. Apparently there’s still evidence of queuelines from rides gone by including the magic carpet/enterprise/boneshaker in the dark forest? Would love to see pictures if anyone has them.

Apparently part of the perimeter fencing of The Alton Mouse still exists too in coaster corner.
