Park Hours: Updates and Discussion

Does anyone think the park hours for next Friday or Saturday will be extended or is it a bit too close for them to change it now

Saturday has already been extended to 7pm. If they get a lot of bookings maybe it will go to 8pm but it may not.

Weekdays seem strange though, I would have thought a lot more would be extended to at least 5pm but it might even just happen on the day?

I'm going on thursday so hopefully it'll be quiet

does anyone think Saturday 10th July will extend the opening hours from 5PM to 7PM??? im hoping so as 7 hours doesnt seem enough with queue times currently being so high to be fair...

Anything from July onwards is expected to be extended, they are just being quite shy with announcing extensions currently.

I would expect all weekends to be moved to 7pm or 8pm and all school holiday weekdays will be at least 6pm.

As every week day from next week on is still at 4pm, what is the likeliness of those being extended? Especially the Friday.

What sites are best to check to see if they've been updated?

There's no way there will be even one 4pm close this month. They for sure will be updated. I don't think weekdays will be ultra quiet anymore from this point onwards to Oktoberfest.

That's the problem though, people don't know this. Having 4pm closes on the website is brand damaging as it is, but having potential guests guessing what the hours will be is unacceptable. It's so late in the day to be extending hours.

Again this is back to the self fulfilling prophesy - advertise crap hours and no one decides to visit - use the fact no one decides to visit to excuse offering crap hours. And so the cycle continues.

I agree 100%, the GP are incredibly unlikely to know, we can put two and two together and say they'll extend as it seems to be this season's trend, but yeah I'd imagine the GP will see 10-4 and think its gonna stay 10-4.

I hope so too! My next visit date this month is a currently scheduled 4pm close but I can't see it staying that way!
At the moment, it seems that the longer they extend the opening hours for, the less you'll ride. Give me an quiet park for 6 hours any day.

But the quiet days just aren't what they used to be Rick.
Since the smiler crash, ops have been so much worse on the quiet days, and they simply just haven't been as quiet, the cheap passes made the truly, blissful quiet days a thing of the past.
Walk on, everything, all day...with more staff than customers...did that really happen so many times?

If there was ever more staff than customers some days that it was pointless opening from a business point of view. At least with crowds they have a reason to be open on weekdays

Not sure, I'm not convinced with this, we did 20 rides on 28 May's 10am-7pm, and if ops are bad on a 10-4/there's significant crowds that don't warrant a 10-4 (24-25th May come to mind here) then I don't think this is necessarily true.

Well aware it was not a profitable situation, but it continued for about a decade around the millennium.
And it was great.

Not quite "rides in the dark" but still nice

I'm now going to suggest that the topic title should be changed as the opening hours are now definitely not the shortest in the world!
