Drayton Manor Park

I would say the next area that needs attention and theming is the other end of the park, where you have the random selection of rides such as the buffalo, haunting, apocalypse, accelerator, etc. None of which are partially themed to anything at all.

I agree, but also to some extent its been like that for over 20 years so why change it now?

Putting something inside the pirates building (and then sorting out the theme outside it) would be better first. It's possible I guess they could turn the pirate themes to water adventure quite easily anyway but it would mean adventure cove covers quite a large area.

Getting Apocolypse, Wild West Shootout, Buffalo, Haunting all to a similar theme would be very difficult without ripping out and replacing most of the rides?

The top section of the Wave Swinger now in place:

It’s a bit, well, small. Still nice to see investment though.

Looking nice! Did I imagine it, or is this going to have water jets like Monkey Swinger at Chessington?

There was speculation that it might have something due to the high platform, but from the previous picture I don't expect it will.
Also in general its a more enjoyable year round ride without them, the water was the main reason I didn't ride ripsaw too.

Has Stormforce 10 been closed for a week so far to finish off the adventure cove theming?

It was weird that they put a concrete down then cover it with dirt/sand. Could still have water features around the side of the ride.

I notice that they taken the G force signage off the photo booth in the back.

Out of interest, has any more been said regarding the Adventure Cove River Rapids?

I’ll admit I’m very interested to see what the ride is like when it opens. It appears as though Drayton are putting a huge amount of effort into theming/presentation, which makes me optimistic, but I think the nature of this ride could be quite telling in terms of revealing what types of things are allowed/accepted on a modern-day rapids in the UK in terms of effects and strength of the waves. Will we be able to see things like waterfalls, and will we be able to see any kind of water effect that interacts with the boat? Will there be able to be lots of wave machines, or will the waves be kept to a minimum? What type of restraints do the new boats have; will they have seatbelts, or will they remain beltless?

It’ll be interesting, for sure…

As interesting as it might be, I'd be very surprised for there to be a new install of a (non-travelling) rapids or log flume in the UK because of the chlorination requirement, sadly.

Those plans where drawn up I believe at the same time as they installed the junior boomerang and was planned for 2012/2013 I understand. It used small single cars (4 people per car I think).

Around 2013/14 vekoma had those exact plans on their website for the single launched duelling coaster model. Plus in a vekoma behind the scenes video that appeared online there was blueprints on a wall which showed that layout overlayed onto the buffalo site. At the time it was rumoured to have been using scalextric as an IP.

Adventure Cove is coming on nicely and I reckon it will all be finished in 2 weeks time with a grand opening on the 19th July ready for the busy summer season.
I went yesterday afternoon and the rapids is nearly finished with workers adding speakers to the queue line so it may have a soundtrack.

The Chicken diner is also nearly finished.

The Wave swinger itself is nearly finished with the electrics been installed

Unfortunately without the “adult” rides I agree there isn't much point for people with no kids to visit the park at all.
Even Paultons & Chessington feels like they have a better coaster line-up.
If they removed Apocolypse and replaced with a decent size family thrill coaster same season (without removing the Buffalo coaster too) then it could be a positive.

Yeah if Maelstrom went too that would be the final straw for me.
